Offers For Sam's Town or Gold Coast?

July, August, September offer have arrived.
We, Paul, who is Emerald, has always had a Gold card for food.
This offer was for a Silver card!
What the heck is going on???
We have a host who will most likely take care
of this, but, what the heck is going on!!!!
Do they want us to look elsewhere!!!! Maybe!!!
Does anyone get a Gold card for food now?????
We play about 30,000 a day right now.
Before we played less and got the Gold.

Ther're really hurting. We stayed there for a nite last month just to see what the birthday promo was and the place wasn't very busy. The upstairs has really been depleted of machines and there doing the same thing on the main floor. They take machines out and put either alot of kiosks in and atms or configure the machines in large circles or rectangle to use alot of room. Ironically at our table of the birthday promo was Kathi Gant-host. I was sitting across the table from her so I didn't want to start bitching about the offers as the meal provided was excellent. Also the little snack stand at the bottom of the esculator was being removed. Before we left we went to ESCannery and they were very busy and all the newest in machines. Yes we too were gold at one time and last year silver and now just the $25. We stayed four nites at Suncoast and 2 at Alliante on our last trip and loved it, so Sams is out and Suncoast and Alliante will be our back-ups to our "home" Orleans. Jon

We had a Gold Card for Jan - June (and we have had a Gold Card for at least 10 years) --- until the upcoming July offer. Then it will be Silver, for the first time since we can remember. We will not ask the host to "take care of it."

On the other hand, we had a WONDERFUL time at Green Valley Ranch, Sunset Station, and Red Rock Last week. They have so many good new machines. And we hit a Progressive Royal at, of all places, Harrah's. We have Barry Manilow for our next trip.

We stayed at Sam's Town on this trip too. Billy Bob's was almost empty. The new Billy Bob's menu is awful, missing favorite sauces, dressings, appetizers, and entrees that we like. It is so hard to order ("we no longer have that") that it isn't worth it at all. There have been many layoffs. They will no longer make their own sauces and dressings in-house. They will be "store-bought."

It is very hard for us to go to Las Vegas in July - first time in about 20 years - with no Sam's Town.

But I sure will enjoy Barry Manilow.

Did you get the Celine Dion offer from Sam's Town? No mail piece yet, but it is on the web site. We won't go to that, either. I think we're done with ST. Very sad when they let you down.

Interesting, Just got Silver card for Sam's Town with $75 in free play for playing $10 in a day. I actually got an email from a host saying I had originally gotten the wrong offer and was now upgraded to the correct offer (Silver card).

I'm done too.

I've gone from getting three free nights every month to a calendar with four or five free nights scattered throughout the month.

Meanwhile, Stations is throwing all kinds of offers at me based on four hours of play in one afternoon at Red Rock that was less coin-in than I played at Sam's Town.

I don't think I've ever had a trip where I didn't play at a Boyd Casino but I won't be playing at any of them next month when I'm in town. I'm moving on and will concentrate my play at Stations and also try to get established for future offers at Fiesta Henderson and M Resort.
I found that Stations, much like other places, throws out the bait,
you bite, they reel you in. You play more and more,
seem to get less and less until you feel like its time to move on.
Stations really screwed us after we increased our play to President level.

Right now we are on the Coast casino fishing trip.
They too will start to demand more, give less, and
it will be time to move on.

Never marry a Casino!!!
Actually Stations has been really good to me (especially the RR), while Boyd has gone down hill, even tho I am an Emerald. Last stay at ST (my 25th) was not very impressive and I really noticed the decrease in machines upstairs. They did send me an email correcting the poor mailer, but it wasn't all that impressive (Silver card and $150). Next two trips, I have booked the Orleans on their July & Sep tourney dates.

Red Rock, on the other hand, keeps improving their offers and my host keeps uping the mail offer. Have booked both the July & Sep trips with them too (that will make 8 in a row). Its nice to feel appreciated (and I usually win there too).

I agree with everything Bill said. Except that we have not received the "email correcting the poor mailer."

Stations have been excellent for us, especially recently. Offers have been great. And, more importantly, we actually have a good time. I found myself sitting there saying, "dang... this place is perfect!"

We are Emerald at Sam's Town (former home away from home), Platinum at Stations, and Diamond at Harrah's.

I hated the removal of the multi-game progressive from upstairs at Sam's Town (the ones against the wall). It was the only place to play One-eyed jacks. Now, all the Stations have OEJ, but with a lower payout.

30k and not getting Gold Card Offers! WOW. Then again, I remember not all that long ago (ok, it's been a while) I was getting Gold Card offers and a mini suite for 7.5k per day, and they had a LOT more restaurants back then too.

After they suddenly decided they wanted 20k per day for the same treatment, and dropped me to mid week room offers I stopped going for a while. Silver card offers started showing up for a short period of time which I took them up on and then those dried up.

I hadn't been there in years and stopped by for a visit a few years ago. Mail started rolling in again but it was lame calendar rates with a few free nights mixed in and $25 food credits.

We stopped in for a visit last July and again in December doing about 8-9k and this spring I got an offer for April, May & June good for 3 nights, $75 in free play and a silver card. I booked that for our June trip.

Last week an identical offer showed up for August, September & October. Hopefully our play in June won't screw anything up and we get a similar offer for December.

We like having a silver car at the Boyd properties and not having to use our points for food. Being Emerald they really add up quick getting 3X points as it is but not having to use them we've been able to build a nice stock pile.
