I'm curious. Did the reader on the machine you played indicate that you were being tracked or not? Did it say something like "system is down?"
Possibly did the coupon exclude use on the July 4th holiday?

I think it is never a good idea to express threats to discredit a place to the workers. It almost never works out well. (You might want to do it, but keep it to yourself.)

One time (not at Orleans but it doesn't matter) I wasn't able to pull up Free Play that went with the offer I was in on. Several Players Club people I checked said "try later, it's probably our computers." I kept trying, no success. Later, I realized that it was MY mistake, because I had waited until after the offer period to use the Free Play. You'd think that the workers would have been able to tell me what the problem was, but I also know (now) that Free Play is gone, bye bye, zip, won't show up in any form or fashion if you don't use it within the specified period. I didn't go ugly on them, and it was a LOT more than $10. Overall I've gotten a lot more from that property than what I lost from my stupid mistake.

If the Orleans people truly treated you disrespectfully (other than not giving you the $10) that is something else again.

Another thing...an LVA coupon isn't the same as a corporate offer. Had this been a Boyd generated matchplay, there might have been some sort of recourse.

Sorry you were disappointed.
There was no indication that the system was down. It gave the usual card accepted sign, and said Welcome or something.
I give a high rating to the slot folks at the Orleans. Whenever I have had a problem, they have always gone out of their way to make it right. Maybe being an Emerald actually makes a difference.

Never had a problem using the coupon at the Orleans. If the system was down, it is understandable that the coupon couldn't be used. Not worth throwing a tantrum and ruining the chance this will be in the book again next year. Used this coupon at least 3 years in a row, probably more, never had an issue.
I had no problem using my coupon either. Computer systems go down, that's a fact,! It's not worth getting bent out of shape over a lousy 10 spot.

I agree with Muskeg and others who said they would be really mad about this. I would make a strong effort to come back later and claim the $10.

If I ever use this coupon I will ask the club first if the computers are working.

Muskeg has a Valid Point the Orleans has Been Lacking in customer service Lately, I have had several instances in the past with them also. Most Recently with the Room TV,s (I Know I do not go to LV to Watch TV) I usually like to bet the Days Races in the Sports book then Go Upstairs to the Room and Watch . This was During March Madness and the Sports Book is usually PACKED, Well after placing a days worth of Wagers at Several Tracks I discovered that the Races are Not Broadcast in the Rooms anymore. When I got Home I complained via E-Mail that went unanswered for several days Then passed around to various Managers, Sports Book , Hotel Operations Housekeeping ect. Finally the Sport Book Mngr responded and Stated that COX Cable controls what is Broadcast in the Rooms. (Are You Kidding Me)
He then offered to Buy me Lunch next time I was in town. I did not complain for a Free Lunch. The Next time I will be in town will be over a year away , What am I suppose to do , go to the Sports Book with an E-Mail Written by some Guy who May or May Not even Work there any longer looking for a Free Lunch. I don't Think So, Next Trip will be somewhere that appreciates my business.
Recently read in LVA that the Orleans offered 17 x Points on all Games the 4th of July to LOCALS ONLY.
If they don't want Visitor $$$$$ I,ll spend Mine elsewhere
They will honor that voucher. A couple of years ago we were eating at the Prime Rib Loft. We ordered Old Fashions to drink and they charged us $10-$12 each. I insisted this was wrong but paid the bill. When we received the Boyd survey wanting to know how we enjoyed our dinner I said I know we were overcharged on the bill. The beverage manager e-mail me, wanted to know all the details of time etc and then said we were overcharged almost triple. He then gave me a $50 e-mail voucher to use whenever. We didn't make it back for 6 months and there was no problem using it.
Excellent news: I just received a call from the Orleans' in-charge of marketing who was very apologetic over how the Orleans staff handled this situation. They are more than willing to make it up to me (comped rooms, cash) next time I'm down. I know from past experience that what happened was out of the ordinary for the Orleans and I am THRILLED that they called with this gracious offer. I consider myself a customer once more of the Orleans! Thanks Mike M!
