Palace Station or Red Rock?

Hello everyone. I have 3 myvegas nts at Mirage and want to do a night before them at either Palace Station or Red Rock Station. I know Red Rock is way newer and nicer, but PS is way closer to Strip and Downtown. We will get the nt free from myvegas so which would you all choose? And pros and cons to both places would be appreciated. Thanks.
If it's the Tower at Palace Station, that's acceptable; however, the Courtyard rooms are not, IMO.
agree with inavis----courtyard rooms are the original rooms and are quite dated-----tower rooms are newer and much nicer---palace station is much closer to the strip and downtown ---
PS tower rooms are satisfactory. My biggest complaint is that when you go from the parking garage and go past Starbucks to go to the hotel check-in area, there in no convenient ramp to use to get to the hotel check-in area. Instead you have to navigate through some rows of slot machines and go up the ramp which on the right looks into the Grand Cafe. That's what probably what makes it ADA compliant, but it sure could be more customer friendly. I've only played at Red Rock, but I guess the biggest downside that I could see is that if you don't have a rental car and you get bored at Red Rock, it's even a long way to Rampart or Suncoast from there.

Thx guys for all your help and opinions. Went ahead and booked Red Rock for the first nt free through Myvegas, and the next three at Mirage free through Myvegas. Red Rock is just way nicer, rooms, property, everything. They do have a guest shuttle that goes to Fashion show mall so we will jump on that and then head downtown that day.
Red rock canyon is a baeutiful way to spend a few hours and get some good exercise...its just a few minutes from the resort.
Yah PJ, we did it years ago and it was great.
