Palms/Hard Rock vs Monte Carlo/Planet Hollywood

Do the glitzier places frequented by the "in the know" folks really have nicer rooms/beds or is that just the word put out thwere by the PR flaks?

Never stayed at any of these places (except Aladdin before the changeover to PH)

Shocked to see they're all showing up at approximately the same pricing during my planned trip once you factor in added promos

Palms/Hard Rock vs Monte Carlo/Planet Hollywood

I haven't stayed at PH. Casino is average - buffet is above average. The other three have about the same room comfort level.
Monte Carlo is a quieter place
Palms has best Video Poker
Hard Rock has the most energy

If you want an energetic vibe - Hard Rock
If you play mostly VP - Palms
If staying on the Strip is important - Monte Carlo or Planet Hollywood.
Monte Carlo is connected to City Centre by free monorail - that is a plus!
Planet Ho has V Theatre - and Goldstar has comped tickets for some of those shows - Marc Savard is recommended!

PH and MC are, for my purposes, the same location. I consider everthing from MC to harrah's to be in the same cluster even though it covers two long blocks. I'm a walker, so that's nothing.

Will definitely be checking out multiple V theatre shows. Looking at the Motown and Beatles shows, plus vegas the show, and Savard if only because he's free lol. Can always get 1/2 price tix to any/all of those! Plus they're all in POV, don't even have to hit the ticket shops.

Haven't been to Vegas in 7 years, shortly after City Center was conceived. Lots of new spots to discover!

If you stay at PH, try for a resort room or nicer. Rooms at PH have large bathrooms with separate shower and soaking tub. Both Palms and PH have comfy beds and rooms at Palms have recently been remolded.
