Palms or 4 Queens

I'm double booked at Palms and 4 Queens and don't know which property to plant myself. They both offer pluses and minuses. Never stayed at either property before. As far as rooms are concerned, are the Palms rooms that much nicer? On the rest of the Geshtalt of the places, I enjoy the extension of the downtown hotels into the Fremont area. Downtown is a lot of fun, has a lot of variety and is very friendly. I don't find the Palms friendly at all. But I will have a car...but once I take the car, I can't drink. Such a dilemma!
Keep both. Stay downtown and "visit" the Palms- then you can decide for yourself which one you like the best. Or don't. Personally, I would take downtown.

Depends on your age. Evenings at Palms can be pretty "young" with it's clientele.

I would probably stay downtown unless, you like more of a loud party atmosphere.

Yes, the Palms rooms are that much better, by a large magnitude. Plus the Palm's original tower's rooms have just been renovated within the last 3 months. The best you will hear about the Four Queens rooms is "you won't be in the room much so it won't matter", which tells you a lot. FSE noise is a factor in the FSE facing Four Queens tower. Both have good VP. I would keep both but I would find a way to get back to the Palm's for sleep. After one look at both of the rooms you will understand what I mean.

I have stayed at both places and I agree with this assessment. The Palms has 20 machines with 100% plus video poker, which is a major factor for me.
I'm a fan of both places but as someone that likes to wander around I would choose 4Q simply for the neighborhood.

The Palms caters to a younger crowd - especially at night. People over 40 (like me) can feel a little out of place there once the night party starts but thats not a product of the staff being unfriendly; thats a product of me not being into the club scene anymore.
I would say that it really depends on what you're looking for!

As specifically for room quality itself, although I haven't stayed there, I have seen photos of Palms' rooms.

But yes, if you don't mind the clientele at night, then Palms might be better for you. I myself prefer Downtown LV for the action that I can easily walk around to and so room quality for me would not be the deal breaker.
