Palms Resort Fee

Check again. The only "fee" is $1 per day for the phone.
Well, last month we were charged a resort fee of $12 plus tax for each day. Just called the Palms front desk today and they confirmed that the $12 resort fee is automatically added as a charge to every room.
I rechecked and got the old "ask"(beg is more like it) your host to take care of it. Another phony way to say you are over-comped.
I cancelled my "free" room. Hopefully enough other players will cancel and they will get the message. I will not hold my breath.

Did you tell them that you were cancelling your room specifically due to this new and ridiculous "Resort Fee?"

This is what I think others who cancel should specifically tell them. That I think would more likely help to get the message to them even better!

Yes- I told the operator the reason and followed up with an e-mail with cancelled reservation # to corporate.
I was just their and my resort fee was $1.00 per night. (Although, my suite was comped not sure if that matters)

I wonder if this means maybe that the charge is $1 if you get a Suite but $12 for other kinds of rooms?

We had a comped suite and a $12 resort fee
I stayed at Palms June 5-7, 2011. When I went to check out they tried to charge me the $12 resort fee. I refused to pay it because it was not mentioned when I made the room reservation or in the room reservation confirmation I printed off. They tried to tell me that I was told about it when I checked in, but I wasn't. They tried to tell me that it was on my printed reservation confirmation, but when I showed it to them, they had to admit it wasn't there. The clerk finally agreed to take the charges off my bill after about 10 minutes of arguing.

I have always liked the Palms, but had never stayed there. I won't stay there again. Not just because of the resort fee, but the room I was in was just worn out. Palms tries to act like it is so cool and hip, but then I'm in a room with an old style 25" TV and banged up furniture. I will play there in the future and I still like Gardunos, but I won't be staying there.
