Plaza

We just got back. Went in in the early AM and it was dead. I was able to use the ACG free play as the attendant was doing double duty (and actually got a very nice return, $22 on $5 free play).. I think the restaurants are still open, but it was too early to really notice.
LVC was doing as much business that AMas the others in the area (Cal, MSS ansd GG).
I agree they both are in serious need of TLC, glad the PLAZA is getting some.

I've won a couple of times at the Las Vegas CLub, most recently over Memorial Day Weekend 2010. I've never stayed there but I always stop in for a few minutes and put some $$ in the slots.
Anyone try the new bingo at the VEgas Club?
i sat out side the bingo room grinding at full pay JOB. It was lightly attended, it seemed from the outside, which suggests better return on your gamble, i think. The waitress was not to be found, but i minded it not at all- dont drink, myself. then, leaving vegas club (where i once talked my way in to a 15th floor north tower suite room at checkin,,, memories!) i saw a bank of ancient coin droppers with short pay but 1600 us dollar royal flush. Lets hope someone enjoys my money. Good luck!

Played bingo with my son on our family vacation over Thanksgiving. His idea. It was a Sunday afternoon. The room was about half full. Drink sevice came around 2-3 times, numbers called at a good pace (fast according to my bingo addicted son). Not sure what to compare it to as I've only played bingo one other time at the Gold Coast.
The last time that I checked Plaza's website, it said that the hotel was scheduled to re-open in Mid 2011 which would be ahead of schedule (since it had earlier said that it would reopen in September).

I'm looking forward to seeing the improvements!

Can anybody tell me whether there are any table games still open at Plaza during the renovation? Or is it only machines?

Uh, actually, no it doesn't. The October article you quote says what was planned at that time and the original poster said "a few machines" are left. I was looking for information from somebody with recent first-hand knowledge. Please feel free to ignore my posts if you find them repetitive and/or you don't have the information sought.
I'm not going to bicker further with you, but with LVA announcing that only slots would operate during renovations, with one poster reporting that the Plaza website says renovations will continue through mid-2011, with others reporting crowds in the casino numbering roughly the same as the number of fingers on a typical human hand, all in this thread, I don't see much reason for your confusion.

No, there are no table games at the Plaza right now.
