Karen, We have never stayed at Ceasers but have stayed at Bally's severl timesand have never had a problem. When we came two year ago we stayed at the Paris with my in-laws and it was not that great. They too did not really care about the property or the guests.

I have stayed at all of the Caesar's/ Harrahs properties and like Paris the best. It's been my experience that the check-in people, bellhops, maids, dealers, bartenders, cocktail waitresses, etc. have been excellant when it comes to customer service. Have never had any problems there.

What happened during your stay to say that they dont care about the property or their guests?

I agree with you, Paris was the best. Rio has been the worst place I have stayed in so far. My new girlfriend and I back then both got food poisening from the American Grill resteraunt and the room was horrible. Cigarette smoke everywhere and the room smeeled like it bad as well. The thing is, they keep sending me offers for $25.00 a night for 2 nights and the third night free. I am actually thinking of just going lol

We just got back from our stay @ the RIO...and this was our second time visiting @ the RIO. We had no problems at all with our room. We did try to contact the Casino Host prior to our trip and left numerous messages - no return calls. We approached the Casino Host and he was quite rude. My husband actually asked him "Why have a Casino Host" if you are unable to help me? Well, we took our 5K and played at the Palms. Now that hotel ROCKS! I'd like to stay there now! :D
We stayed at The Rio the last 2 years for a week each time and did not have any issues at all. We were in the Ipanema Tower 18th floor both years. The only thing we did not have was a flat panel TV, but we suffered through. We had coffee in the room, but I know some do not. I believe the Rio has some really shabby rooms, but ours was fine.

RIO was my Las Vegas home for several years.Great restaurants, gambling, entertainment, service, etc.
Then Harrahs bought them and it was a rapid decline of every aspect of the property.
I still know some dealers there and they are not happy either.
I think I might stay there for the first time this summer only because of 3 things.
Never have/ check it off my list
Easy walking/commute to GC and Palms
easier picking up/drop off for my friends who drive
I've stayed at the Rio at least 6 to 8 times the past couple of years. The only complaint about the room was this past trip(March)--- both sinks drained VERY slowly. I left a note about it for the Maid along with a "fiver"....when I got back to the room that evening, the room was spotless and the sink situation had been taken care of. Room has always been clean, shower/bath worked fine, never have had an issue with noise, etc. Self parking has usually been good..I've always been able to park in the surface lot, just outside the entrance by the buffet, or the ramp adjacent to the Masquerade tower. I enjoy spending some time at the Wine Cellar each trip, and their buffet is still one of the better ones. Unfortunately the weather has never co-operated on my trips, and I never have been able to enjoy their pool. Personnel at the check-in/out desk have always been helpful, dealers have been friendly and the CW's are shapely.

The not so good: Their restaurant selections have not been to my tastes..really miss the Rub BBQ restaurant. They have cut back on the hours of operation for their cafe the past couple of years. The VP paytables at the Rio are terrible and the slots seem to be tighter than hell there. They never seem to have a lot of BJ tables open. I have found myself gambling less and less at the Rio the past couple of trips.

That said, I just completed the planning stage for my next Vegas trip...and found myself booking eight nights at.......the Rio. CET gave me a great deal, comping me 4 out of the 8 nights. I always rent a car, so staying off the strip has never been an issue. Cocktail service has always been adequate....not great, but better than average. Overall, I give the Rio a favorable rating.

Glasses can affect your vision; especially when they have been emptied several times........
We just got back from our fourth stay at the RIO. While it isnt a 5 star resort and its starting to show its age, we have had nothing but positive experiences there. If you rent a car like we do, I think it is the most convenient place to stay, especially when you know the side roads.
Yep, just got back from Bally's..........Rooms, service and food all good.....VP was especially good to me this trip.........The RIO seems to be on the way out.
