The RIO - any suggestions?

I will be staying at the RIO and I was wondering if anyone has any tips / suggestions especially when it comes to which rooms/floors are more desirable.

And as usual, please refrain from those ever so witty suggestions such as ".... don't stay there".
Personally we enjoy the Rio. In fact we are staying there for 7 nights on our upcoming trip in February.

I will say that when we were there in October, our room (in the Mascarade Tower) was a bit worn and outdated. I wouldn't even sit on the couch. However my Brother in Law had paid regular price for his room and was put in a newer room in the Ipanema Tower. His room was very nice, with flat screen TV, Keurig coffee maker with complimentary pods (ours had the coffee maker but you had to purchase the pods), nice newer couch and desk with granite top.

We like that the room has a fridge, coffeemaker and safe. We love the Rio flair bartenders and enjoy the lively atmosphere. The Rio buffet is our favorite buffet however it is getting a little pricey.

Hope this info helps!
Ask for the Ipanema Tower, high floor, pool view.
Unless you are going at a busy time, try the $20 "sandwich"...you should be able to get a room in the Ipanema Tower on the Diamond players floor. It's worked for me twice in the past year. Pool view with the strip in the background.

Glasses can affect your vision; especially when they have been emptied several times......

Spring Break 2000 !!!

I have stayed there and enjoyed the property but like most of Caesers properties its is in need of general up keep, paint, new carpet ect., too bad cuz its a fun place.
I am also staying at the Rio in a couple weeks. Last time I stayed here was 1997. I am Diamond, what is the diamond floor? how high up is it?
Thanks
Joe
We also stayed there in October. We had a high room in the Masquerade tower, but it had a new flat screen tv. Our room overlooked the front of the building, and since we had storms while we were there, it was awesome to watch the rain clouds come in over the airport. We were given one free K cup daily in the room, but purchased more in the store down by the elevators. I would bring my own next time. My room was comped, so the price was right.

We usually stay at Ballys, and if given the choice, would definitely stay at Ballys instead.
They referred to rooms on the 17th floor, Ipanema Tower, as the diamond wing. These are a little dark and will give you an idea of what these rooms look like.

Just got back from the RIO. I booked 2 rooms and they were both in the Ipanema Tower (17th floor and 18th floor). From what I was told, our rooms seemed to be a bit a smaller than the Masquerade Tower rooms, but certainly had a newer and cleaner feel to them. While both rooms were considered to be of the "diamond wing" classification, only the room on the 18th floor included free coffee pods.
Thanks for the updates everyone! Lisa, Thanks for the pics.
We normally stay on the strip at CET properties do to comp. But this is a long stay so it is broken up. Rio, Main Street, Bally's
