Has anyone used the LVA Rio coupon yet this year? Do you have to call in to get a code or to book? Thanks. Haven't ordered my book yet, figuring out some plans.

Thanks!
Could be better if you call.Try both.
Check your promos from the Rio. I only had 58 club points but had a promotion that with 50% off the rate plus no resort fee. I checked last month and mine was good until March 29th. I went the last week of February and got 3 nights in a remodeled King for a few pennies less than $120 total. I called in to make my first reservation but had to cancel it because of bad weather. The second time I made it online. The price was the same for both. Happy first three digits of pi day.

I think strawberry, apple, and lemon meringue should all be 50% off today. But not many restaurants are run by nerds, so...
Was talking to fellow LVA member while standing in line to use Golden Gate coupon/airline offers. He was from Europe and staying at Rio for 3 weeks. claims his total cost for that time was $336 or $16/night. Daammnn!

I don't believe him.
Sure, there's a chance that's true. Anything's possible.
But Rio's management would have to be industrial-strength stupid to allow itself to be abused like that.
And I don't think Rio's management is industrial-strength stupid.
Perhaps he, his wife, and their adult kids all have LVA subs and are chaining multiple reservations under different names? Conceivable.

I believe him, because while Rio was renovating in November/Dec, their rate for the Masquerade Tower was $16/night, and there was no limit on the length of a reservation.
However, the LVA code could be used multiple times, so he might have made several consecutive reservations spanning over three weeks. There was no mandatory period between reservations.
I stayed at the Rio for eleven consecutive days before the rodeo and used three back-to-back reservations to do so. $16 per night on Sun-Thurs, and $21/night on Fri/Sat. No resort fee.
