Rio Rebirth: First Look at Canteen Food Hall Menus and More

I think there is/was a plan to build a pedestrian bridge that connects all three properties in that neighborhood.    That would actually be a nice attribute that opens up all three places to everyone staying at any one of them.

I dont know how the resorts feel about it considering they are all owned by seperate entities.  Maybe they dont want to share their customers with their neighbors.    Right now it not convenient to walk across the street from Palms to RIO or Gold Coast.

That's a great idea for the customers.  Hope it happens.

I can't see the city/county financing a project that will benefit only those casinos, considering that unlike on the Strip, there is little pedestrian traffic in that immediate area. And any of the three casinos might calculate that those bridges might subtract from as much as add to their customer base. Also, it would benefit the Palms more than the Gold Coast or Rio, seeing as how you can walk between the latter two fairly easily.

Maybe they can all hire big guys to drop-kick customers from one property to another?

So basically you don't see it happening.  If it was advantageous for everyone, it would have happened years ago.  We usually played at the GC and then went to eat at the Palms.  They had a really nice Mexican spot that looked out into the pool area about 15 years ago.

Was that Garduno's? They also had a location in Fiesta Rancho. One of the things I really liked about those restaurants is that the food was New Mexican, which is very very hard to find outside that state. I almost always had the green chile stew, which is never served in "regular" Mexican restaurants.

The other dish that I wish would make it outside New Mexico (and Arizona) is the green chile cheeseburger. No topping elevates a cheeseburger to gourmet level like green chile.

As I'm bothered by hi car rents, and increasingly using RTC, those 3 make an attractive nexus. GO JOB  at GC, and room comps at the other 2, suit me. Tho i hate fees, I like the options, with modest food on the south side. Stayed at rio last month, On a Priceline deal. Enough 98% VP play to fill an inside SF and a net win. Hense comps. The makeover will take a while. Last winter, I walked up to Decatur for AM coffee. I'm an idiot. Good luck!

For anyone that has stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms at The Rio:  I am curious what amenities are in the room, specifically do they still have refrigerators?
