Rio super cheap

Hey LVA's

emailed offer from Rio free $25 resort fee plus tax

$56 for 2 nights booked 10/9 -10/11

followed up with an email offer for 3 nights Sunday to Thursday totally free

I stayed there with the LVA offer last year for a concert last year.

After hearing from LVA about VP upgrades stopped by with my wife to play 9/6 JOB at the bar

Hit a SF while drinking a "free" Modello

I will be checking out the BJ, last time I played only $25 table had 3/2 on naturals

I won't play 6/5

Overall impressed with their player friendly moves

Hope this information is helpful

Rebook using the "LVA25" code and it might be even cheaper.

Just got an offer today for 3 free nights and no resort fee. Must book by the end of the month

I have booked the LVA offer for November. However being not fussy (and frugal) I booked the non renovated rooms. My expectations are, if he room is clean, bed comfortable and no bad smell,  I will find it acceptable . Are these rooms acceptable based on my expectation.

We stayed in the renovated rooms earlier this month, and they're very nice. We had friends in the other tower who had problems with their room; the AC didn't work, and there was a water leak in the bathroom. They were moved to the new tower at no charge. So, if you do run into anything, let the staff know.

Hi Max.  When I stayed there, I made sure to get a renovated room.  Mine was a lower floor facing the strip.  Next time I will reserve a higher floor facing the mountains.  I hope everything is going well with you.  Take care and stay warm as long as you can.

Here's the deal. The renovated rooms are nicer than the older tower (Masquerade) rooms and contain better amenities like more places to charge stuff and more usable bathrooms (the M tower bathrooms contain tiny tub/shower combos, for the most part). That said, the M rooms are huge and well maintained and housekept.

The difference is in the location. From the porte cochere/front desk/main casino area, the M tower is a walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk away. The Ipanema Tower is only a walk walk walk away, ALTHOUGH it has loooong corridors branching out from the central elevator bank; the M tower is more compact. So the walking advantage of the I tower might be negated. Ask for a room close to the elevators.

The gambling is now really good, though the opportunities are limited. Morning $3 craps, $10 blackjack (though I think it's actually 6:5 shitjack), and actual 9/6 JOB video poker. $3000 coin-in will get you the LVA bonus $25 free play plus $35 more from the Rio.

Don't eat at the Rio unless you like setting fire to money. But if you must, avoid Bozo Borracho, eat at Hash House if you don't mind a $25 breakfast, and Luckley's has insanely overpriced albeit quite good pub food. Try them during happy hour.

Use the free valet instead of the walk walk walk walk walk parking garages.

Thanks Kevin for the report. I was thinking of booking the LVA deal which is $16 a night with no resort fee, next week, but I'm not crazy about walking a mile to my room.  I wanted to use the Palms buffet coupon, too. I have never been there.

Well, you can park in the Masquerade garage and that will cut down your direct access to your room to a more manageable walk. There is THEORETICALLY a checkin kiosk at the bottom of the M elevators, which is SUPPOSEDLY manned by a deskling, but I never saw it open during all the time I was there. IF it's open, you can avoid the central casino area altogether and not make a long walk.

I won't be renting a car, so that isn't an option.  I'll probably stay somewhere else this visit, but would like to check out the Rio.  I am using up my LVA coupons and want to try the Palm's buffet. I really miss all the buffets!
