Room comps at South Point?

Going to LV from Aug 1 - 10 to celebrate my retirement (woo-hoo!). Booked a room thru SP's website for 40% off. Could only get thru the 9th as they had no available rooms on the 10th, but am counting on getting a mailer from 4Q or Stations to take care of the last night.

About the only thing that I didn't like about SP is that there isn't a Starbucks on site for my lattes, which are something I only allow myself when on vacation, but I'll live.

I haven't paid for a room in years, so my question is, how tough is it to get rooms comped on the back end at SP? I've never stayed there, but like the fact that the rooms are large (as is the casino) and I had some very good luck there on my last trip. I'm a low to mid-level roller, and will give them a good chunk of my play.

Would appreciate any insight or thoughts...thanks!

I did similar on my first stay at South Point.

Try calling Courtney Whitaker she is a very nice host. Now I always do the pre-comp thing. But the first time I called her while there. She is usually very helpful and does what she can. I will soon be there for my 7th stay.

702-796-7111 just call and ask for her usually after 1:00 or 2:00 their time. Good luck.

or if you want try [email protected]

Courtney will definitely be helpful if you are a machine player and might also help on the room for table play. If you are a table player, you may also have success getting the room comped on the back end from the pit bosses. Obviously it would depend on your level of play but 3-4 hours per day at $15 per hand of bj might work. You can also ask them for meal comps as you go, as they are very good to work with for that.

As for your lattes, I think Seattle's Best will be more than adequate for your needs.
Thanks guys, for your input -- it is much appreciated!

I'm stepping out of my comfort zone a bit, but I am getting tired of outrageous resort fees and am willing to try a new place.

There are a few of who really like South Point. We always havea car so being it is a little south not a deal. And a lot of good VP and food choices. And like Bob said they have a Seattles Best. I also partake of Starbucks on mainly on trips. I feel their lattes are a little behind SB's. But my Chase bank is right north of there right by a SB's.

You should be happy there. Yes and no resort fees.

Ditto what Terry and Bob say about the place, including Courtney. Also add that they have free wifi in the front desk lobby, which has lots of seating.

Stayed there last year, really liked the place, put in some decent VP play and havn't recieved an offer yet, just sayin!!
Their offers aren't abundant but you can call Courtney and see what she can do for you.
We love staying at Southpoint. We have been staying there for several years. After reading these boards, we decided to use a host there as well. We use Kelly Juliano. We are staying there at the end of the month & for the first time we will be getting a 1 bedroom suite.

We put all our meals on our room & have it evaluated at the end of our trip. We did very well gambling last trip July/Aug including winning a $1000 promo. We were unable to get our food comped, but were given an $80 comp for Vito's and told we could get the suite next trip. Both hubby & I played only on my card. If we had played on his as well and he had losses we could have possibly comped more. We also had over $200 cashback so it still worked out pretty well. We had previously been comped for all of our food. We usually eat at Vito's, Steakhouse & Oyster bar each trip as well as the deli. We only play VP.

Congrats on your retirement!
Thanks Judy -- 36+ years at the same place is enough for me! I'm looking forward to this trip; I appreciate all input, both positive and negative. I will likely contact a host when I get out there for more info. Thanks again, everybody!
