Sams

Just got our April, May, June offers online too.

3 free nights( no change from before)
Silver card( always had a gold card)
$75 free play( had $150 free play each day)

We stayed 2 nights in Feb. and put on 69,754 tier points
What a drop!!!

Paul wants me to email our host to see what is going on, I think
I might just do that.

Judy
Well we just booked Aliante, Sunset, and as always Orleans for our week in the overlap of April/May. Been with Sams for years, but that offer just doesn't cut it. Judy I hope you get good news from your host, with that amount of points you put on you should be getting there best suite.
I'm glad we were able to book Jan., Feb. and March and take advantage of the 3 free nights, gold card and $125 free play each month. (We are leaving tomorrow for the March offer.) The offer we received for April, May and June went to 3 free nights and $!0 food credit!! I haven't had an offer that weak in many years and our play is the same or better than in the past. If we come out during the summer, I think we will head over to the Gold Coast or Orleans. It is a mystery as to what is going on at Sam's. First they excite us and have us running over there to play and then they slam the door in your face so you will look elsewhere.

I sent our host an email.
Johnny usually gets right back to us. No answer so far.
Just asked if marketing was trying a new strategy.
Main complaint is dropping from gold to silver card.
Admittedly, our play was unusually high in Feb.
We had a B -SUITE, gift basket and free food.
We were celebrating my birthday and decided to go all out.
We had lots of luck and even walked with some $$.
Doubt that we will live up to that play.
I will let you know if/when we hear his response.
Judy

am too is curious what johnny says. we have only asked him for room upgrades and every time, he is very prompt in getting back to us.
Still no response.

Now maybe Johnny was working that NASCAR thing over the weekend.

Anyway, I had a little too much to drink last night and decided to
contact Sam's. They have a contact page, so I wrote a not so nice
comment to them. Not sure what kind of response I'll get from that.
Kind of wish that Paul had told me to wait before sending it!!!!

Judy
Johnny finally answered.
He was very nice and very possitive.
After checking the account he said no worries,
we would still get Gold card dining.
No explaination what marketing is up to,
but I don't care as long as I can eat at Billy Bob's.
If you feel your cut is unjustified, contact your host.

I personally don't like relying on hosts. I only use them if I go over a limit. I prefer my offers up front. When looking at your point total Judy I don't think you have anything to worry about. We were gold for years and let it slip to silver-and that was fine, but with the offer they sent, I guess its time to move on. Jon
I'm with Jokare. I like to know up front what comps we are getting.
It will be interesting to see what the rest of 2011 holds re. offers from Sam's Town .
We'll take the three free nights and $25 food credit because of the comfort level we enjoy at sam's town...but that will be two less days (and two less days of our gaming dollars) than usual that Boyd will get at the end of april.
We booked Aliante (our first visit) for April 25-26 and the next three nights at Sam's Town.

I agree about the comfort level at Sam's Town. (Except for the mattresses, which are slowly being replaced. Wish they'd hurry up.)

We still get the Gold Card, and the latest offer is for 4 nights instead of the usual 3. The free slot play, while still very good, is less than it used to be last year (before the Jan/Feb/March extravaganza).

We will only stay 2 nights on our next trip.

I agree with Jokare and Nickles about using hosts. It's fine if you get your own (regular) host, and that's great. But if he's not there and you have to speak to someone else, they hem and they haw and they dance all around what you are asking. Best to avoid (for us anyway).
