Senior Wednesdays at Stations Return

Well, those people weren't very smart. If you skip the half off food and just get the x5 points it is still a better deal.
Sue, see you Tuesday.

Dan

I agree with Don. The 5x points was the ONLY reason we went to Stations at all. The 50% off food just creates crowded restaurants and long lines (and the need for making reservations in advance).

Imagine trying to get into a restaurant that opens at 5:00 pm to get a discount that expires at 6. The restaurant is already full at 5:05. Either the restaurants should open at 4, or the coupons should go all evening.

Just give me the 5x points. Otherwise, there's still no reason to make the trip to a Station.

Thanks,

- bcc
At Aliante, the great majority of folks using the 1/2-price points for dining use them for the buffet. They are our "regular" guests -- local seniors. If they go for dinner (many do breakfast or lunch), they eat early, anyway -- 4:00 is quite busy.

As far as the sit-down restaurants go, you must be seated by 6 (not done eating) to use the 1/2-price points offer.

I know that the sit-down restaurants let you be seated by 6 to get the discount. However, we have found more than once that the restaurant we want is already full with reservations through 6 o'clock on Senior day. So planning ahead and making a reservation is almost a must. I'd like to see the senior discount go through at least 7 pm. After that, the restaurants are pretty empty anyway.

Do the Stations still do the Early Bird from 5-6 on other weeknights? Or has that gone away? How about the 2 for $20 deal?

But our main reason for going is the 5x points.

No to your question about the Early Bird and 2 for $20 deals. But each restaurant still has specials. For example, the $25 complete meal at MRKT is good every day (but not with any other offers, such as 1/2-price points). Il Vino has a $6.99 special on spaghetti and meatballs. These are both at Aliante -- I'm not familiar with the deals at other Stations. You should be able to view the specials on each property's website.

BTW, lots of seniors have been coming up to the rewards center to thank us and tell us how happy they are to have "their" Wednesdays back. They didn't want to have to drive all the way to the M or the Coasts for senior days.
To me the half point deal is worth a lot.

What if you earn 5000 points, at 5x that would give you 25,000points.

Approx $41. Now half points, assuming you have them, on a $150 tab,
saves you $75 or 45,000 points.

Thank you for returning some senior benefits.

Judy

To be fair, as tourists we are probably making 3x points anyway, because of the offers we get in the mail. (Must swipe and select 3x at Kioske, and then you probably don't get it the same day.) Since we have multiple offers, there are usually 3 days' worth of 3x's to use while we visit a Station on any given trip. Since there are two of us, we have 6 days' worth of 3x's if we play on each other's card.

So what we are losing is the difference between 3x points and 5x points on Wednesdays only.

Most food is free using buffet coupons that come with mailed offers. If we want to eat in a restaurant, it's usually a dinner after 6pm, and we use points.

We usually play most of our points as free-play, but leave about $60-$100 in comps behind for the next trip. No 5x will mean less free-play.

We used to LOVE the oldies that Sunset Station on Senior day. (Elvis, Liberty Valence, Leader of the Pack.) They don't seem to play it as much any more.

I agree that for the most part, the people who benefit from Senior Wednesdays are the locals. It's all part of Stations' current campaign -- "We Love Locals." If you haven't seen the current TV commercials, you can view them on Youtube (just search for Station Casinos). Or go to http://www.weluvlocals.com to print out valuable coupons that change weekly. Last week's was a $100 Stations gift card for $50.

BTW, Tony, multiple points are put on your account immediately. This didn't used to be the case, but it is now. And you're right -- you must accept all multi-point offers by swiping in the kiosks.
Hooray for the AARP set and welcome youngin' Dan to the fold....
Young at Heart sticker cracks me up. Stations plays the best music!!!
