silverton

i am staying there. tell me about it.
Good choice ! Its been about 4 years since my last stay. i recall very comfortable beds.

I visit the casino almost every trip. The ACG buffet coupon is a must. They have one of the better "reasonably priced" buffets in Vegas. 8/5 BP at the bar is very worthwhile.
I've never stayed there, but it is a must visit each trip for good food, drinks, and gambling.
I really like it there as does my wife. Although we go there every trip we actually stayed there for the first time earlier this month. We stayed in a standard room and liked it. The bed was comfy and we always have liked the casino especially the vp at the Flare Bar. It's nice to sit at a bar with decent J O B and drink Stella. As we planned later. In the week when we had moved on to Westgate we went back to Silverton and ate the buffet and viewed a suite at Silverton in anticipation of staying in one for a week later int the year. The suite was nice but now my wife says she doesn't know if she wants to "stay all the way down there" for a week so a suite that's in our price range apparently isn't going to happen??

Rooms are fair/good. The beds are very good. If you get a room by the elevator you will have a view of a wall. I recommend asking for a room with a view of anything that's not a wall. It's not just the poor view, but it obstructs light from coming in the room and you feel like you're in a cave room. The furniture was not thought out correctly. If you open the cabinet holding the tv, the doors flap open blocking the chair and table in the room. Seeing as I like the tv on while I'm in the room and use the chair to lay my clothes upon, this was a nussence (sp).
All in all, I like that the beds are so good and the rate is free. I will stay there on my next trip for a few free nights.
The casino is very laid back and low energy.
They have a Starbucks for morning coffee and it has free Wi-Fi.
The propertyis kept very clean.
The Bass Pro shop is a unique diversion...as is the fish tank.
There are many other options for better dining in town...both cheaper and better food if you have a car.
It is a good place to stay, but not a destination property.

I really like the Silverton, as I travel out alone and meet up with my family who lives there. It is a very comfortable place to be if you are on your own. I love the buffet, and a good coupon play is the weekend brunch. I like the rooms and the mini bar fridges are actually not expensive for beers! The hallways in the hotel are pretty dark and if there is entertainment outside and you are on that side of the building it can be really noisy. The whole casino has Starbucks coffee while you play--which I loved and the food is good in general at all the restaurants. They run lots of specials, too.
