silverton downgrading all bartop video poker

Thank you dukeofdarby. Looks like it is time to look for low roller friendly options on the next trip. I am not a fan of the strip, and am certainly not room comp worthy in their eyes. I don't know that the wife would want go even further south to South Point. Maybe I'll try to get back on Station's radar, since as far as I know the Boyd's remain tourist unfriendly.

It's amazing to me that Silverton is offering strip type vp. We like the place, and I've been happy with the way they have treated us since we started staying there a few years ago,but now they seem intent on driving people away. Hopefully the current mentality won't last. I like the place, but even before the vp downgrade they weren't exactly packing them in. I know whenever we go to South Point for a meal they would always be busier than Silverton.

I had a local explain to me once that Silverton is kind of in a no man's land between the strip and the more residentially developed area around South Point.

We loved Silverton back in the day.  But we left 8 to 10 years ago when they were downgrading even then.  They had good food options, decent rooms and promotions back then.  We hatred to leave but we went to South Point and have been extremely happy ever since.  SP has better games, better food options, nicer rooms and is easier to get into and out of than Silverton.  Like you, we will be checking out Stations as a possible replacement for Aliante.....another very nice property that Boyd is screwing up.

I hardly ever play at Silverton anymore since they downgraded their slot club for video poker players, but I was there today and looked at the 25c single-line JoB at the bars and on the floor. Here's what I found.

Flare Bar - one side has 8/5 JoB with a royal flush progressive - the other side has 9/5 JoB no progressive

Big Bar Outside Shady Grove Lounge - some machines have 9/5 JoB, some have 8/5 JoB and others have 7/5 JoB with a progressive

Shady Grove Bar and Mi Casa Bar - 7/5 JoB progressive

On the Floor - 8/5 JoB

Spin Poker on the ten All Star Poker machines - 9/5 JoB (can be played just one line)

All the above are 25c JoB.
