slverton

We are heading out for Spring break and plan on doing Saturday night at the Silverton. Never been there before but the deal was $99.00 for Saturday nite and 2 free buffets. The rest of of the trip is 2 comp nights at MB and 2 comp nights at PH. Has anyone ever stayed/played there? Should I maybe look elsewhere?
Silverton is fine. The renovated rooms are very nice if you can get one.
I love Silverton--but it is way off strip, and isn't exactly a happening place. If you are on spring break from college, and are otherwise staying at MB and PH, then maybe you would be more interested in a strip property with more of a night/party life? I guess it all depends on what you are looking for.
thanks but no ,not college, actually getting away from my students and my very own teenager and college kid. so it should be what I was looking for. but I just saw at school today March 26 is some type of earth hour where all the lights go off in the country at 8:30 pm . So now I am thinking the strip would be a cool place to see that

uh, lights out in LV? dont be in a casino. expect a panic/run for the exits. thanks for the warning, and Good luck!
no, the lights go off on the outside for a green type moment. I have been in a casino when the lights tuned off-not fun.
I have stayed at the Silverton many times. Great place to see a concert. The buffet and restaurants are often a value. The Bass Pro Shops is awesome. They had a girl mermaid with a microphone and an iron lung hand feeding the sharks in the amazing fish tank. Little kids and adults loved it. Kids can ask her questions as she feeds the sharks. This info is about one year old or so. It's off the beaten path but the CAT bus stops there.
Have stayed at The Silverton 5-6x and enjoyed my stays.
A few observations-- vp has been downgraded, so if you are a vp player not many choices
-- casino has a laid back atmosphere, which I liked especially after a stay on the strip
-- they served starbucks coffee on the casino floor
-- wife plays slots and has no complaints
-- Sundance Cafe is a good coffee shop
-- buffet is a good value
-- Twin Creeks SH classic menu is a good value, so is their hh
