Smelly Room at Orleans

Just got back from Vegas, stayed in a few different hotels....including Orleans for 2 nights. They put us in a room on the fourth floor and boy did it ever smell funky! Moldy, musty smell...anyone else ever notice this about the rooms there? It's been a long time since we've stayed at Orleans and although I do remember their water smelling odd from the bathroom sink now & then, it was nothing like this odor which seemed to fill the entire room! We didn't spend much time there or we would have asked for another room...just wondering if anyone has had the same experience...
I've stayed at The Orleans a half-dozen times and have never experienced that. I know you said that you didn't ask for another room because you "didn't spend much time there," but I still would have told them about it and asked for a room that didn't smell.

I wonder if there is a leak or something near that room (perhaps even inside a wall) causing the smell.
Did you check under the bed?
Stayed there several times and never had that problem either. We have stayed at a couple of places where the room smelled well for lack of words--stale--like it had been shut up for awhile. After turning on the ac, it went away quickly.

You should have said something though. Even if you were ok with it since you were not in the room much. It be a clue to a bigger problem in the hotel, as earlier stated a leak or something.

Hilarious!!!

We've had some pretty stinky rooms in the past all over Vegas, but most of the time the "skunky" smell is from all the weed smoked by the previous occupant!

Too Funny!

I would be weery of Mardi Gras tower at Rio too. Not only funky,
but FLOODING toilets on Floors......... seems to be the buildings past time.
My wife and I stayed at Wynn's last year. We're from the midwest so we know what skunk smells like
(road kill). We were on the 24 floor and it smelled like skunk. It was about 3 in the morning so we didn't feel like moving. We had a maintenance guy come up and thats what he told us, someone must have been smoking skunk weed in the next room.

John
Orleans staff is very accommodating. You should have asked to be moved. We have stayed there numerous times and never had a smell issue. Then again, if I have stayed there twice and experienced unpleasant odors both times, I doubt that what people say here would make much difference.

That reminds me of the time I called the front desk and told them I got a leak in the tub.

They said "Go Right Ahead, You Paid For the Room" !!!!!!!!!!

Rick
I have stayed at the Orleans many times and found the rooms to be alright. Maybe there was a air conditoning issue? Sometimes there is standing water vapor similar to first turning on your car's AC in the spring.
I think that some of the rooms also used to be smokers' rooms , and carpets are not replaced all that often.
