Smelly Room at Orleans

I have 2 nights scheduled there for next Sat-mon. Don't really need them (overlaps stays at Aliante and GVR) but free plus $50.00 in food ( plus I loooove the Paigow there) is incentive enough to venture over there and check in before the Seinfeld Show - at Ceasars.

I am curious as to what rooms/floors my LVA family suggests that I ask for at check in?

OR WHAT ROOMS/FLOORS TO AVOID.
Ask for the new tower, highest floor possible. Sorry I can't remember what views they may have.
I had the EXACT same problem the last time I was there. I don't think it was related to the bathroom. I agree it smelled like a VERY bad case of mildew, like someone left too much water in the rug or something when they were cleaning it. (I've done it and know that smell.) It was so strong I literally called down as soon as I got to the room and got a new room but it was so obviously and incredibly strong, I was kinda of pissed that I was put in the room in the first place. The cleaning folks didn't notice it? Geez.
On my floor (smoking 1723) it was obvious they care. Many doors open w/ huge dry vac blowing /drying room floors.
I did not have any smell.
Love Orleans-- good rooms for the value even if I couldn't change my freezing air- only shoved an easy chair against it to reduce the blast.

If you want the strip view you will want the oldest tower. If you want quiet rooms, ask for the 20 and 21st floor-top two floors. These floors are mainly suites but the newest tower has standard rooms on these floors. These floors are the only ones with flat screen tv's some with 50" and some with 38-42". These 2 floors also are given the usa today. If you stay on any other floor and want a paper, just take the elevator to those floors and there's plenty sitting on a table near the elevator. Elevators go 1-9 or 9-21. All rooms are similar in shape and size with just newer wings having armoire instead of regular dresser.
Thanks Bobby, N cat and Jokare for the heads up. And I love the USA today sports section!!!
I have stayed at the Orleans in the newest tower once and the oldest tower numerous times. Never have had any type of problem. Newest tower was on the 14th floor facing the check-in, taxi cab area. Oldest tower I have always had a swimming pool/mountain view.
LOVE THE ORLEANS.
We've stayed there a couple of times and never had any problems w/smells with our last trip being in May 2011.

But if I ever notice it upon walking in the room I wouldn't unpack and ask for another room! For those that did have a problem - please post the room # or at least floor/tower. I plan on going back soon and would be curious to know
The original post is from July 2010. I doubt if they would remember the room number or if they are members anymore.
