Something Big is Coming

The only mention of a Feb 2008 date in the new boarding pass rules is as follows:

"Points earned playing Video Poker, Video Reel, Reel Slot, Video Keno, Video Blackjack and Bingo on or after February 14, 2008 are eligible for Slot/Sports Play and Cash Back redemption"

That just seems to be making the Slot/Sports Play and Cash Back Redemption options somewhat retroactive at least as concerns the Sports Play and Cash Back which are new.

I've seen nothing in the rules published online or in a mailing I received today addressing the issue of increasing earlier earned points to make up for the increase of point redemption from 600 points = $1 to 1000 points = $1 for the Station restaurants.

Hopefully after Sue settles in after her vacation she can update on the happenings since the ALL NEW boarding pass has been initiated and hopefully have answers to concerns we have all brought up.

Add me to the list of those who have seen no change in our current point status.

Wes
I got a further clarification of the point upgrade issue. I was told that only Fiesta points will be adjusted because apparently Fiestas did not participate in the Feb 2008 changes. I haven't given Fiestas much play and any points I earned I used up in the restaurants/buffets. The vast majority of my Station's play was at either Red Rock or Santa Fe. If I would have known that this conversion was coming I probably would have given Fiesta more play.

As it is, there is no point in keeping my old points for just food since there now will be no difference if I cash it out, use it for free play or anything else.

And speaking of free play............I haven't been able to access my free play offers from either Fiesta or Stations since my card was converted. The lady I talked to at the player's club was very nice and also frustrated since she saw the free play was there on her computer, but when we tried to access it with my card in a machine........ no luck. She said this has also happened to a few others. They told me to send an email from the contact link on the Stations home page to try and fix this.

Needless to say this "great new change" at least for this week, has not been one of my favorite things.

Let's be fair here, Station downgraded it's program in almost every single way. Hardly shocking...
Going forward it is an upgrade. For video poker the point system went from returning .1% for cash or .167% for comps to returning .3% for both. The 3x promotional offer went from .3% cash back to .9%. I hope they keep giving out the 3x offers.

For our old points there was no change in the cash-back value for redemption but the comp value went from .167% to .1% which sucks if you had accumulated a lot of points you were planning to use for a big dinner or something. Peronally since I was already getting free rooms and food I didn't have much need to use the points for comps, so the change had very little down-side for me.

Yes, if the x3 points offers continue, on top of the normal x3, I would agree it would be an upgrade, a BIG upgrade. I guess we will know in a few months.

Maybe it's me, and having seen hundreds of player club changes, but I'm not holding my breath

My real concern is that having increased the players club cash return from .1% to .3% they are going feel the need to downgrade their video poker. For instance .3% cash back makes NSUD a break even game. That shouldn't be much of a threat to the casino but they might not see it that way.
Isn't NSUD a $4 per point game? That makes it 0.075%
No, NSUD is not a $4=3 points game, Carlyck. The "Optimum" machines have full-pay deuces, loose deuces, 10/6 DDB, and 10/7 DB -- 100% games only.
We just got back Sunday from our annual trip that included a stay at Aliante. The website says our points will expire July 1, 2012 so I'm having trouble reconciling that date with the wording on the website that says "Points are redeemable for at least thirteen (13) months from the date they were earned." If they truly will expire on that date I'll be disappointed to say the least because we normally go only once a year.

Having said that - we thoroughly enjoyed the two days spent at Aliante. I can't say enough about the entire place - the rooms were extremely nice with a flat screen TV and a bathroom I wanted to pack up and bring home with me. The walk-in shower with the rain shower head, the lighted mirror that made me look like a million bucks - heaven! The pool was beautiful and just the right temperature. The buffet was more than adequate with great service, and every single staff member we had contact with was extremely friendly and helpful. I'm a sucker for a comped room, but I would definitely stay there again even if I had to pay for it.

Sue - sorry we missed you again this year, but please let your co-workers know they're doing a great job!
Your POINTS will NOT expire July 1, 2012. The expiration date on the card refers to your tier level status only. You have until that date to earn enough CREDITS (not the same as points) to maintain or increase your tier level.

This is confusing, I know, but your comp points do not expire unless there is no activity on your account for a full year.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, Sura. Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet, but thanks for your kind words about Aliante.
