If you play that, please let us know what you get, especially if you do it multiple times. As you know, "up to" can mean, well...anything.

It was pretty good the last time they had it.  But remember, it is one spin a day now.  So SP seems to getting even tighter with their promotions.  But that said, at least they have some.  My family did them every day and averaged like $25 a spin.  (9 spins in total; still a low sample I know)

Back in March of this year SP had the same promo. Mrs. Don and I had 8 spins:

$10 FP = 1

$25 FP = 6

$50 FP = 1

A pretty good return!

$1500 coin-in at NSUD = expected loss of $4

Points earned = worth $4.50

Promo return = $25 (based on reports from Don and Jerry, and on the shaky assumption that it won't be worse this time around)

Looks like a good pop in, play, have lunch, exit stage left play. Used to be so many of those :(

This promotion is on their website now:

Don, you're obviously a local...I've complained in the past that South Point sends nothing, nothing, nothing to out-of-towners, especially those who win. But how do they treat locals? Do you get decent offers? You must put in ar least $20K a month, each of you. (Oh, and do you play on the same card, or separately?)

Also, I've tried to get a straight answer when I've asked hosts about how much coin-in it would take to get a room comp, and they've been maddeningly vague. One said forthrightly than it would take $5K daily, but another said "about $8K," while a third said, "Check with us when you're leaving, and we'll see." I quite frankly would be thrilled to get one of their very nice rooms for $5K in play--after all, than would only be about -$12 in EV--but I can't get a definitive answer most of the time. And I don't want to show up and dump in $40K or something like that over a week's time and then be told that my room "can't" be comped. That's happened before, and there's nothing that puts a sour taste in your mouth more than having a losing trip and then being told that you're not getting a room comp after all (minus an additional $600, suck it up, buttercup).

Do you have any experience or anecdotal knowledge of this?

Years ago I asked a Host, Strip property, what it would take playing blackjack to get a room comp.  He said "$125 a hand for four hours.  I thought, yeah right.  I played $5 and $10 a hand, maybe 2 hours.  In no time I was getting snail mail offers for room plus a bit of free play plus some food comps.  (No resort fees at the time.)   I think those Host-expressed comp numbers are come-ons that have nothing to do with what can come from 'marketing.'  I never again worried about it.

I go, I play, and wait for what comes in the mail.

Candy

Yesterday I got $50 after playing just over 1500 points and losing about $200. I'm not saying that makes any difference but it might.
