I just flipped it to 8/25-8/29 instead of the trip.

I will actually be in Vegas 22/August - 8/Sept. I have 2 stays @ South Point ,22-25/August - and - 1-3 Sept. I always rent a car and eat @ South Point frequently. It is possible I will be in the casino during your stay there.

Southpoint has found that offering good gambling value, good moderate priced food & good inexpensive entertainment is the way to go.  The place is always packed.

They don't see a need for good monthly gambling promos.

Down the road is Silverton which is empty

That is surprising with $36K in.  I think they may give better offers if you go like 4-5x a year.  I play a lot of poker and I don't put that $36k through the machines on a given trip but maybe they look at it annually or quarterly which probably helps my case.  Are you going there just once a year or something like that?

That said, I get pretty bare minimum with offers.  Two nights Sun-Thurs comped.  Southpoint has always had an odd method of doing comps if you ask me.

It's been once or twice a year for some time now, with one trip in February and any subsequent trip in April or May. I did do a brief December trip that I combined with a drive down to AZ to see the relatives for Xmas.

Another weirdness is that when I was still getting offers, I never got them in the mail. In fact, since I joined their slot club when they opened, I have never received a single piece of mail from them. The slot hosts knew if I had a pending offer, and if there was free play, it was downloadable at any machine. The same goes for email--never, nada, nothing. It's like Our Secret Slot Club or something. (And of course, I've repeatedly checked--they've always had my correct address.)

Poker players definitely don't get shit, probably because they expect you to be a local if you're playing any significant amount. I haven't played that room all that much, so that's a moot point for me. I really really really have never liked the local degens there. Nasty people who spend WAAAAAAY too much of their lives in that room--all those hour-accumulation promos. How awful to say to yourself, "I have to play 17 more hours this week to qualify for the freeroll" when you'd rather be doing anything else. Yecch.

I used to like, stay and enjoy Silverton. They have gone the way of so many other casinos in Vegas and are having the same results. Since they closed their once upon a time nice buffet - which was greately downgraded the past few years - I have no reason to visit or stay there. They have become what I would call an "overflow" casino property - when the rest of Vegas has high room demand, visitors stay there not because they desire to, but because they have rooms available. You would think that they (and other casinos) would pay attention to how South Point is managed and would follow suit.

I get mailers still.  See what I mean about them being very inconsistent?

When I asked the slot host, she said, "We no longer send physical mailers to out of town guests." Fine, I said, but why have I NEVER received a mailer? As in, EVER? She said, I don't know. Then I said, OK, why don't I receive email offers? She said, I don't know. Then I asked, since I evidently WAS getting offers until fairly recently, why was I never told about them--why did I have to ask? She said I don't know. Then I asked, why am I getting no offers at all now? She said, your play isn't sufficient. I asked, why, it's been sufficient for over ten years. She said, we've changed our marketing approach.

I'll BET you have, sweet cheeks! The only thing I can think of is that I play EXCLUSIVELY the best VP they offer, but they're not sophisticated enough to chart the accuracy of my play, are they? It couldn't be results, as overall, I've done just slightly less than expectation--so I'm not tearing up the track or anything like that.

Another possibility is that since my best offers came after I had a horrible trip, while conversely, when I hit big I didn't get jack shit for a while, the last five trips being "revenue neutral" might have produced a worse result than if I'd won, lost, won, lost, etc.

Ever think it could be because of your "sweet disposition"?  "Sweet cheeks"? "They are not sopohisticated enough"? - Look at who is talking... You get in life what you deserve. You really are sick...

Nope, because a) you don't like me, which means I'm actually a pretty good guy; b) they don't base their offers on a player's personality--if they did, they'd never let you get within half a mile of the building c) you don't get in life what you deserve, because if that was true, you'd be gang-raped by syphilitic baboons twice a week.
