If this is anything like the last several years when they have had this or a similar promo, the prizes will be smaller during the first half of the month and then gradually grow, until the last week, when the prizes are much larger--you often get the max, when initially, you virtually never see it, and often get the minimum.
The reason appears to be that they allocate a fixed amount for the payout for the month, and they usually have "too much left" by the last week. Last time I was there, it was the second to last day of the promo, and five people in front of me at the redemption kiosk all hit the $50 max; then, so did I.
If you gauge the average prize for the final week at, say, $30 (which seems conservative, based on my observations), then that's a 1% edge, and NSUD at 99.73% + 0.15% players' club is close to breakeven to start. It's an advantage play.
I'm sure Don the Dentist can tell us if his experiences have been the same as what I've observed.
South Point last had this promo im January 2026.
In January 2026, it sure seemed to validate Kevin's theory. Mrs. Don and I went 8 times, 4 in the first half of the month and 4 in the second with 2 spins each visit.
Between the two of us we made $195 in free play the first half and $477.50 in the second.
This promo is "Guaranteed $400,000+".

A pretty low roller edge though, wouldn't you say? $30 advantage and that is only for two spins a day at the very end of the month. Say you play quarters, 800 hands an hour gets you the $3K through in three hours. So $10 an hour theo. I do much, much better out there than this but is in local casinos that aren't highly talked about on this forum. Nor should they be or they'd get squelched out.
I mean, yeah it is better than most, but nothing to run there three days a week for......even in the last week. If I'm a local, I probably play the last M/W/F of the month. It is completely a local play though with it being M/W/F, wouldn't you agree?

Well, sure, that's why they structured it so, and we already know that South Point hates hates hates stinkin' tourists, those lowlife scum. And I do think that the corollary is true: that except for that last week, the promo isn't worth the bother. Basically, it slightly enhances the value of a visit, so if you were going there anyway, like to stuff your face at the buffet, why not play it. Otherwise, it isn't worth the detour. And as I've said elsewhere, I have a slightly sour taste in my mouth from the way I've been treated there. So there are other places I prefer to spend my time.

You have your liberty to write and think what you want. But if you're deep honest, then you cannot seriously believe what you're posting.
Southpoint is a great place to gamble. A lot of dining options, the pool is nice, then there are movie theatres, the bingo, the exhibition hall, the bowling. So then again, what is so wrong about it? Success is showing. The staff is happy there (low fluctuation) and is being treated well by the owner. I hear that all the time and people don't want to work elsewhere. I see a lot of cleaners making sure that the casino floor remains in good shape. At nights they're putting even more focus on the cleaning (celing, deep carpet cleaning etc). I am impressed when I see that.
And then there are the games. Give me another casino that has so many different games and so much videopoker with paytables as shown. The Rainbow and Emerald are little joints with good games and cheap (or free) food, yes. It's a super place for gambling and eating, but that's it. And I love it there. And staff is friendly. But Southpoint is a different league. It's a different kind of casino. These Henderson joints are, from what I see, mostly for locals. But as it comes to staying at a hotel, the Southpoint really has it all.
I am a loyal Southpoint customer and they treat me good there. Which means, I will return going there as long as possible. No matter what some negative voices are spreading. Southpoint, from my point-of-view, is one of the greates (and most successful) casinos in the Vegas valley. I would love to hear from you which other casino you would rate higher. From the tourist's point-of-view. I'm curious which hotel/casino is offering more than the Southpoint.

That's the whole idea, though vacationers, day trippers, and so-called advantage players have different expectations.
Long years ago a friend told me to go see "Sally", Host at an upscale place, who had comped my friend. I went to see "Sally" who practically threw my players card back in my face. It stung, mostly because the friend had assurred me I'd be 'treated' nicely by this lady, so I had that expectation, which of course at that time was misguided.
After that I never approached a Host office again, just waited for offers in the mail, which have been sufficient to meet my trip needs to this day. I expect nothing, just go with the offers, e-mail and snail mail. I know what I'll get and expect nothing more. Takes the anxiety out of it.

Boris, how can I explain this to you when you preface your thoughts with "you cannot seriously believe" yada yada blah blah? That suggests that you'll pooh-pooh whatever I say--or have already said.
But because I'm a quixotic type of guy, I'll repeat myself. I mildly dislike South Point because of the way I've been treated there. Yes, the casino offers good games and good value. Yes, the hotel is nice. Yes, the food is good. But I don't like the way the hosts have treated my play and the gyrating nature of the offers I receive--sometimes OK, but often nothing, even though my play from one visit to the next is virtually the same.
Insofar as being a loyal customer, I joined their players' club five days after they opened. Since then, I've given them something like $15 million in action. I give them $30K to $50K on every trip. But that no longer produces room discounts, let alone room offers. And when I've talked to hosts, they've been dismissive and/or evasive. And when they say, "Check with us when you leave, and we'll see what we can do," what they "can do" turns out to be nothing.
Now, I've said all that before, and other people's responses have been, "Well, I play nickel slots, and every time I visit, they give me a free room, a complimentary Swedish masseuse for the duration of my stay, seventeen free meals at the steak house, and they cover me in gold leaf, so you must be delusional." I think that actually underscores why I don't like the place. Different customers get treated differently according to their perceived value to the casino (I suppose). And I'm apparently disdained as "someone who doesn't lose enough to warrant any perks."
So...fine. You ask where I do like to stay. My answer is the Four Queens. The customer service I receive there has been outstanding. Many times, they've gone above and beyond to help me with something. The hosts are terrific. And yes, I play the same games and the same amounts that I do (did) at South Point. But in sharp contrast, I receive excellent monthly offers. I've also been comped at checkout for all my remaining room charges every time I've asked. Even though I'm a lifetime winner at both 4Q and SP, I'm a valued customer at the former and pocket lint at the latter. And yes, the overall gambling at SP is better and the food at 4Q is no big whoop. (I like the rooms at both places.)
As has been said elsewhere at many times, your mileage may vary. My opinions are based on MY experiences. Imagine that!
Kevin, I enjoyed reading your ultra-long response. I soak in everything you say because I know that there's quite some truth behind. You have knowledge and obviously know how to play the games. I'm still surprised how you cannot be comped there. But, if you're honest, 30k coin-in per trip is only a lot if you stay 1 or 2 nights. If you stay 5 nights and do that kind of play I wouldn't expect anything from them, either. My play is in the range between 15'000-20'000 usd coin-in per day, but not just 1 day. I give them quite some action, which results obviously in a fairly good comp situation for myself. Amazing how you could be ahead after giving them that much of action playing games with a RTP of perhaps 99.20 to 99.70 per cent. Mathematically this is not possible, even with the comp points. But you obviously have that extra luck other people don't have during their lifetime play.
I also like the 4 Queens to a certain degree. To me it's an ok place for a couple of nights. I wouldn't want to stay there for longer than that. At the Southpoint, to me, even 1 month is not enough. But each one his own, right? The progressives at the bars of the 4 Queens got my attention, yes. However, I've never hit a royal there, but I know that the games can become interesting at times while staying there. 4 deuces or aces/kicker are feasible. The noise and the weird combination of clients in the casino (including those undercover homeless, drunk idiots etc) are enough reason for me to avoid that place as a hotel destination.
