South Point March Promotion

In the past, that has been the month for the Chevron gas card/Wally Mart card promo. It adds 0.3% to your payback, assuming they haven't made it worse.

.15 now as they made the slot club worse.  Am I thinking about that right?

It depends on the points needed for the card. You used to have to earn 8,333 points to get a $25 card. That simply took $8,333 coin-in. But now, it's $2 for a point on VP. $16, 666 coin-in to earn 8,333 points.

So if they do that, then, yes, the cards are only worth 0.15%. I have the awful feeling that that will be the case.

If that is the case, then you get .15% from the gift cards and .15% from the normal cash back, then the .3% makes the NSUD very slightly positive. If the rules otherwise stay the same, then to earn the maximum of 10 cards, you will put through $166,666 coin-in. That much coin-in should, would, could, maybe generate a real good mailer and comps from the host office.

That would be the preferred outcome, winning.

I'm pretty sure it will be $16,666 in to get a $50 card now. ($25 earned)  But we will see.

Yeah, unless you win is right.

Yes, but that will doom your comps. The only bright side is that they seem to only look at your most recent results, so if you dared to win last visit, you have a chance to get back in their good graces by getting your ass kicked next time.

I don't have any definitive reports on whether they look at what machines you play and your EV. If, as Don says, you play Wally Card and exclusively NSUD, you're almost exactly breakeven (previously, you would have been +0.3%), and worth nothing to them, so any offers or mailers they give you are pure profit.
