I hate the fact that they've been structuring their promos so that visitors can't get full value out of them (and sometimes, not any). They have a history of telling visitors "Piss off, you're not important, come for the rodeo or a bowling tourney and pay top dollar for your room if you want, but beyond that, you're pocket lint to us."
It puzzles me that they take such a rabidly pro-locals approach. Sure, they're isolated from both the Strip (the part we know as "the Strip") and downtown, but they're near the airport, and you could spend an entire week there and not lack for anything or run out of things to do. They're missing a huge marketing segment. Of course, the place is often packed anyway, so maybe we steenkin' visitors aren't considered necessary to the bottom line. They've certainly given the middle finger to LVA.

I live in Texas and visit Vegas every 2 months and stay at South Point every trip. My rooms are comped, I recieve free play and a resort credit each visit. I also have been able to take advantage at their great promos - (1) Wal Mart and/or gas cards, (2) liquor (moonshine) offerings and (3) their many bonus spins for free play offers. With enough play, anyone can receive what I get and the monthly promotions are icing on the cake. There is a reason that South Point is packed seemingly every day. They have the best bang for your buck buffet in Vegas and great, unbeatable late night (midnight - 6 am ) meal deals. I suggest that one check out South Point before making a decision as to it's value.
"It's" value to visitors is that they will send you offers if you lose big time; if you win, you'll get nothing. This has been confirmed anecdotally by hundreds of people over the last 10+ years. Furthermore, only your most recent visit seems to count. My experience and that of a couple of friends is that we had a losing streak there and continued to receive modest offers, then in turn, each of us got cut off. Joe hit a royal; end of offers. I had a +$250 trip; no more offers. George made $1400 one weekend; no more offers. So as long as you continue to lose, they'll want you back, but God forbid you win even once.
Getting back to the promo gifts:
9/30 - 10/3 = Cooler bag
10/7-10/10 = Weekend Bag
10/14- 10/17 = Unisex Pullover
10/21-10/24 = Yeti Rambler (some sorta' mug)
How do you qualify for the free gift?

Really? "Hundreds of people for over 10+ years"? That has not been my experience. I play mostly video poker at the 50 cent - $1 level and receive the great, constant offers I alluded to previously. I seldom play at the 25 cent level - possibly my consistant offers are base upon the amount I wager and the amount of play I give.
Since you apparently rarely connect with or interact with other people, let alone Vegas visitors, of course that hasn't been your experience. It doesn't matter what "level" you play--it's your total action that counts, AND at South Point, your results, which is different from almost every other casino. You've told us before that you ignore proper video poker strategy when you play, which reinforces the possibility that you get those offers because you're a consistent loser.
Again, this seems to be true only for visitors. Locals are treated much differently.
And since I've been a South Point players' club member since the day they opened and I have and have always had myriad friends and acquaintances who play there, yes, really, hundreds of people.

Good for you. My results over the past 6 years differ from the results you state that you and your friends have encountered. My W-2G copies and my win-loss yearly statements do not reflect your supposed accounting of me being a "consistent loser". The only "consistent" fact is that I continue to receive the offers I have alluded to in my previous posts here. By the way, I do not "ignore" proper video poker strategy, I actually use correct strategy 97+% of the time, while adjusting my strategy occasionally when playing high value progressives. But then again, I do not profess to be an expert and never have.
