Well, this is certainly a continuation of their "fuck the visitors" policy. This promo is all but useless unless you can show up all four weeks. It's good for locals, though.

How good? Well, aside from the value of the weekly trinkets (questionable/negligible), you will get $100 free play if you dump in $4000 every week. So that's $16,000 earns you $100, which is an 0.625% return. Boy, that's really close to the value of just about all their other promos, whether we were able to figure that out by calculation or empirically. Somebody in the slot/promo department knows their stuff.

I wonder if they'll ever have a play X get Y off the buffet promo?

Naah :(

Some people are never happy. -- Here is a quick question - of all of the other casinos in Vegas, how many are giving and having promotions - and what is the value of said promotions? Compute that and get back here with the numbers. - If you dare.

David does have a point there.

David never has a point, except to scream at people and tell them they're liars.

I'm not going to read his post, but you can tell me--it was a thinly veiled personal attack against me, containing some kind of gratuitous insult. Am I correct?

He stalks me all over these forums. Pathetic.

Hi Folks Sad to hear arguments and put downs. On a site that is suppose

to be a information tool. Bless you

Well, Kevin, I think it said 4000 points, not $4000 dollars to earn the gift, though maybe it takes $4000 dollars to earn those 4000 points.  I don't know.  I've never played there.

I'd give any that I didn't care for, e.g. the travel mug, to the lady who cleans my house once a month.  She loves it, like Christmas in July to her, though she probably gives it to someone else, since she has 37 grand children.  LOL.

No, all he said was they are one of the few casinos even doing promotions still.  It was very civil.

At South Point--certainly, not necessarily at any pther given casino--$1 coin-in earns 1 point. So 4000 points is equivalent to $4000 coin-in as far as my calculations go.

But let's take a look at how they could tailor this promo so that it didn't disadvantage visitors, hm? Award the gift + $20 free play every week. Then, award a bonus of $20 additional as a reward for playing all four weeks. Same return for diligent locals--$100--but also a little something for visitors besides the stuff.

I suppose I'm not enthusiastic about casino-labeled swag because I already have more than enough of it, and I'm really not enthusiastic about becoming a billboard for a casino, so stuff like the jacket is worthless to me.

I doubted that, so I--ecch--unblocked and read his post. I don't think starting his post with the idiotic bleat, "Some people are never happy" was civil at all. And since he quoted my post, I consider it a thinly veiled personal attack.

When David oozes out of the Sink to piss on--oops, post on other forums, he often stalks me. He posts personal attacks in "response" to my posts there, but is careful to use weasel language so he can claim, if called out by Anthony, that he wasn't attacking me. That claim can be easily refuted by examining the timing and the placement of his attacks.

All that aside, his "civil" post was off the mark. I wasn't complaining about the existence of promos at SP or lack thereof. And I know that their promos are overall, more generous that most other places (though he's wrong to claim that most casinos don't have promos--they all do). What I don't like is how SP's promos seem skewed toward locals--which would make sense if the bulk of their business comes from locals, but they also get massive influxes for events like the NFR.
