The last time I talked to "my" host there, I meekly asked if I could get casino rate for a four-day weekday stay. She reacted like I had asked her for the crown jewels. I felt like Oliver Twist asking for more gruel.

South Point is still a great place to eat and gamble, but boy, have they treated me like shit over the last few years. And not very politely, either. I asked another (parasitic) host if my $20 million lifetime coin-in meant anything to them. She literally laughed at me.

I do recommend the joint to friends, but caution them that they may not wind up being treated the way they might have been at other casinos they've patronized. It's a stark contrast with Four Queens, which does treat you like a valued customer, not just gum on their shoe.

Of course, my lifetime win/loss there may have something to do with it; I'm actually ahead by about $2000, even though I "should have" booked about a $5000 loss, given my action, outside of comps and redeemed points.
