Last Friday I got a Stations casino email from a Tony Cosentino (never met or talked to the guy)! It was to invite me to stay 3 days (comped) and play (free entry) in A- a 25K Craps tourney at GVR or B- a 25K Black jack tourney at Red Rock. Both tourneys began June 9th!
My first thought was DAMN... I'm not gonna be able to do that because it's the first week of petitioning in NY State ( and my job depends on me petitioning !!!). Plus I've been waiting to see a freebie in my Stations offers for GVR/Red Rock but the best that was showing, for those 2 properties, was $79.00 night ..and free everywhere else .
Got ready to delete the email until I read further down and it said..." No...Book another Stay". I clicked it and up popped a screen that was a link to his email that said "if you would like to book accomodations for another time then please put down the best time to call to set up and book them". I'm thinking yea right...I just blew this but what the heck. Let me send them my cell number ( which they already have since it's attached to my Boarding pass) and give it a whirl!
At 11;30 a.m. this morning (8:30 am vegas time), I see a 702 area code on my phone. I'm thinking its the Mirage folks who sent me an email last night from the President of the Mirage, Felix Rappaport, (and I couldn't get the damn thing to open so I called Mirage last night and left my number...more about that on another post). Anyhow ...on the phone is Tony Cosentino. Calling to see when I would like to come and stay at either property as his guest for 3 days! Damn..my host at the Palace Station hasn't called me in weeks and this guy is responding to my email.
I know for some of you this is not a biggie at all (so don't bother telling how irrelavant this is), but I really appreciated the fact that Tony (who I have never talked to...met..corresponded with) actually got back to me to let me know that, when i'm coming down in August, to give him a call a couple of weeks ahead of time...and he'll do the rest! And he left me his cell number!!
Call me impressed!
