Stations level upgrades how points are counted

When briefed at a Red Rock invited party to be informed all about their new My Rewards there was a video that was played. They talked about how you can become a gold, plat., President or Chairman by putting points on your card in a 6 month period and that you were earning these points at a pace of three points for very dollar you ran through video poker. Wow that was great. Since I was playing at other casinos over the past couple of years I decided to get some serious play done to upgrade my status from Gold all the way to President. I started doing this as soon as this new program started and within a couple of weeks had the 100,000 points needed (even used a one dollar equals six point day). Went to the rewards center and got my Presidents card no problem.

Now a few weeks later my wife is trying to up grade from gold to platinum. But you only get one point per dollar played not the three. You still get the points in you grand total of points for general use but to up grade is much harder by three. Seems someone at Stations realized that up grades were now very easy to obtain and made changes on how you qualify for upgraded status.

I think I have this right. Anyone else noticed this?
Points are for comps and cashback only. They are not what determines tier level.

Tier level is determined by "status credits," which are also earned as you play. While it's true you get 3 POINTS for every $1 coin-in on slots and video poker, you get only 1 status credit for every $1 coin-in on video poker (slot players get 3 credits). This is because VP has a smaller house edge than slots.

In order to get to Platinum during the current 6-month period (July 1-Dec. 31), your wife will need to earn 40,000 CREDITS (not points) by 12/31. That's $40,000 coin-in if all she is playing is video poker. It's only about $13,000 coin-in if she played slots exclusively.

The extra points you earn on the 6/10 points days do NOT count toward your status level.

You became President because you did $100,000 coin-in since July 1st. Your President status is good until June 30, 2012. Any status credits you earn over and above the 100,000 you needed to become President will roll over once into the next 6-month period, to give you a head start on maintaining or increasing your level by June 30th to last until 12/31/12.

If you are more interested in helping your wife achieve Platinum status during the next 2 months, play on her card until she gets the 40,000 credits.
No I did not put 100,000 through on video poker. When this program first started I was getting credit to up grade my status at three to one and six to one on special days. This is was just like what was stated in the video that explained the new system. Some were in the past couple of weeks the system was changed to work like your reply.

So the real question, when did this change happen and why no one was told. I suspect they woke up and realized they had screwed up. I'm suprised you didn't notice this. I pounded lots of these triple points at several Stations Casinos. I Maybe ran through 30,000 over this time frame and was lucky I did it before they realized the problem.
You should go see Sue at Aliante so she can downgrade you to gold where you belong. You are a good man for speaking up.

As I said, your points have nothing to do with tier level. Only your status credits determine tier level, and these are NOT affected by the 6/10 bonus point days. You can believe what you want, but the system was put in place on 9/15 and has not changed. If you ask at a rewards center, the rep will be able to tell you exactly how many points you earned since 9/15, as well as how many status credits you earned since July 1st (the beginning of the current 6-month period). Yes, your play on the old system (from July 1-Sept. 15) counts towards your status earned during this period. And status credits are earned on every game except live keno, including race & sports betting and table games.

The only way that what you call "triple points" can affect your status is if you are playing slots or video keno -- not video poker.

Frankly, I spend 8 hours a day explaining this to guests at work, and I'm tired. So I'm done explaining it here.
Mr Deuces, I think what Sue is trying to say is that your bonus points (x3 or x6) do not count towards tier level. I think you were probably close right before the conversion and your first play after the conversion put you over the edge.

Or you actually found a machine which paid out more tier points than it should, in which case I would keep quiet when speaking to an employee of Station Casino's

I am pretty sure Sue know how the slot club works.

In either case congratulation on President level. Enjoy your 50% buffet discount.
Thanks, Kiwiboy. You are correct.
Sue: based on what you said above about earning points during the period 7/1 thru 12/31, I'm wondering if I should plan my trips a bit differently. I usually have two trips: one in June and one in Nov. However, would I be better off scheduling the two trips within a six-month period? It's not a big deal for me to move my June trip into July; would that be a better strategy for accumulating status credits?

Fredo
Probably not a bad idea, Fred, unless you're confident you can achieve the tier level you want with one trip in a 6-month period.
Thanks, Sue. While earning the status credits certainly won't be a primary reason for scheduling my trips, if all else is equal, I'll take it into consideration.
Note: at least with the combining of Station and Fiesta points, I won't be coming around to have you transfer F-points to my Station account just to get a meal!
