About a month ago I noticed that I had 2 offers in my stations box that simply said "be our guest with this special hotel offer. See your mailer for more details". No other information. However other offers i.e. Sunset Station, explain the offer in detail and give you a code for the comp rooms from now till the end of October. You want them, then just book them. The problem is that this is the second time 2 back to back offers have come (this time 8/2-5 & 8/16-19) and the first time was in June. The June offers were never explained via a "mailer". This morning I got an email offering me a choice of a 25K slot tourney at Green Valley 8/2-5 and or Red Rock 8/16-19 (which I took by the way). The problem is that by the time I find out about these offers (August 2nd is less than 2 weeks away) my airfare options have dryed up and I'm paying top dollar for a SWAIR ticket.
Coupled with the fact that the code that was emailed to me, this morning, would not work online nor with 4 different Station (Red Rock) people. It was obvious that the only way I would get in would be to speak to my "host?" (who I've never spoken to before) Lindsey. I finally reached her and the rest took care of itself. This reservation was considerably more difficult than the Palace Station/ Sunset Station offers that I can book online from now till the end of October with no help from any Station staff person. It was also more difficult than any previous GVR or Red Rock offer that I have ever gotten before.
I understand Stations being more selective but I don't get this act here. If you are gonna offer me something then make the offer. Don't keep me guessing til the last minute. It's almost like they are waiting for their "prime" customers to respond and if they get enough of them then my offer will never materialize. And if enough of them ("prime players") don't show an interest then at 4:01a.m., I'm gonna get an invite for 3 nights at GVR (in 2 weeks..take it or leave it).
Now my only problem is how can I do the 5k Luau tourney at the Cal and the 25 K tourney at Red Rock on Saturday night
Tough town...I'll figure it out!
