Suncoast changes

I was at Suncoast today and was surprised at all of the changes they have made, not only to the gaming area, but also with the restaurants.

Cafe Siena is no more.....that area is bordered off and will make way for a DuPars restaurant when that space reopens. Also, where the Mexican restaurant was that space is now occupied by "The Cafe" a temporary restaurant with a very limited menu (and no Chinese menu) which will close once DuPars opens.

In addition, machines have been moved, removed and in their place some new slot machines put in. Some of my favorite VP and VK machines were not to be found, I didn't search the entire casino looking for where they were relocated........I hope that they were relocated........but next time I stop in, I will do a more thorough
search.
Good to hear that they closed the Café Sienna. The service really sucked and the food was only average at best.

On the gambling side, some players no longer get multipliers on the Senior Wednesday promotion. When they swipe their card at the kiosk, the message says unable to access your account at this time. When they go to the club, they are told to speak with a casino exec, who never happens to be there. Then a game of "telephone tag" ensues. The advantage players I talked with never were able to hook up with the elusive executive and were never told exactly why the multipliers were cut off.

My guess, and the guess of other APs I have talked to, is that only playing at the Suncoast on their point multiplier days was the root cause.
Wow! We stayed one night at the SunCoast - the Saturday B4 the Super Bowl - on our last trip, and none of those changes had happened. We will miss the Chinese menu they had in their cafe. Always liked that. But it'll be interesting to try out DuPar's - haven't been to the one downtown. I did notice some new VP machines when I was there, but they were multi-game, multi-denom and the games I like to play were on them, so not a big deal. We ate at the deli and the buffet on our last stay. Pretty much the same as always. The room renovations are nice.
DuPars downtown at Golden Gate is wonderful. Great food for breakfast.

On our offers from Suncoast we receive $50 a day for food. I wonder if we'll be allowed to use at DuPars?
DuPars is now open at the Suncoast. A sign out in front of the restaurant says that comps may be used starting April 18. A rep at the players club told me that you will be able to pay with your BConnected card points at the restaurant at the 1000 points = one dollar ratio since it is not a BConnected restaurant.

I've never eaten at a DuPars before so I'm looking forward to checking out some of their menu items and especially the pies that I've heard so many good things about.
Pancakes. That's all you need to know, pancakes. Oh and don't expect to get hungry for about 8 hours.
We had the short stack of 2 pancakes and they were so good! We were glad we did not get 3! A little expensive $8.25 for 2 but we were stuffed
