Suncoast vs. Main Street Station/Orleans?

My girl and I figured out (this evening) that we both have seperate offers for 2-3 free nights at the SunCoast, M.S.S. and Orleans (also Gold coast but we had a bad experience in thier rooms last summer so that aint happening). Wondering how the Suncoast rooms/Hotel match up against M.S.S. and Orleans?

We've never stayed at the Suncoast but I'm sure some LVA'er can speak to their accomodations vs. either MSS or the Orleans.

Thanks in advance!
champster; If you don't mind the drive, Suncoast is superior to MSS and on par with Orleans (MSS rooms and TV's are smaller) We have always stayed high floor, golf course view at Suncoast however, I would think high floor mountain view is okay. That being said, we always stay three nights each at Suncoast, Orleans and MSS. Each have features we like.
The rooms at the Suncoast a nice and spacious. It is somewhat of a drive and not close to any other place other than places to hike (Springs Preserves & Red Rock). The spa at the Orleans is much nicer at the Orleans, but the service at the Suncoast spa is very personal and friendly. Pool is small at the Suncoast, but when we were there not many people there. Food choices are about the same.
Suncoast and much nicer than MSS. It's a toss up between Suncoast and Orleans. Suncoast has the better VP AND a x5 points coupon in the ACG which would be the difference breaker for me. MSS has better VP than both and requires very little for future comps. Also MSS you can walk to a multitude of different casinos. Suncoast only has the Rampart within walking distance and Orleans, not much at all, put is closest to the strip and airport.

So....

VP = MSS
Walking to other casino's = MSS
Rooms = Suncoast
Easy comps = MSS
Closeness to strip/airport = Orleans
Upscale feel = Suncoast / Orleans
Buffet = Tie
Restaurants = Tie (MSS includes the Cal and Fremont with their comps).

Actually Champster I know your a real low roller, so the 5c 3-Play 9/7 DB Progressive at the Orleans might be right in your sweet spot. This might be more attractive to you than full 10/7 DB at the quarter level at MSS.

Also if your a beer drinker, MSS wins with the free micro breweries on the floor and at the bar, plus a great happy hour in the 777 brewery ($2 pints).
Haven't stayed at MSS but the only similarity between the Orleans and Suncoast rooms is the size. Orleans rooms are clean but dated, as befits its age. Also, Suncoast rooms have a fridge, if that is a feature you'd like, plus they deliver a morning paper (USA Today). I also get the golf course view from the Suncoast.
I haven't found any vp I really like at the O except for some 9/6 bpdlx across from the buffet - it's usually amidst heavy smokers, for some reason.
Suncoast is just a short drive from Red Rock, so you've got that if you want.
Wherever you stay, good luck, Champ!

I agree with Fredo. Rooms are far nicer at the Suncoast, and we find the beds are very comfortable. We like to have the fridge for snacks, as well as milk for our morning coffee (coffee pot in room) which we have while watching the golfers. The Italian restaurant is excellent, and the buffet has been much improved. If you put 300 points on your card you can get a free breakfast buffet at the kiosk (you keep the points) 600 points gets you dinner.
Hi Champ,
My wife and i love the Suncoast. Stayed there for a week a few years ago. Never got a decent offer from them. But we love the feel of the casino with lots of vp i like to play. We both like the buffet. The rooms are nice and big. We are booked for The Orleans for 3 nights comped and the Silverton for 6 nights comped. March 22nd thru March 31st.

Wife got one night comped at Suncoast so we double one night. So we will go over to that side of town.
Maybe we will get a better offer for next year lol.

Have Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to hear more about the Gold Coast room experience. I have wondered about the rooms there, yet have never stayed there, and not sure I would want to, but others say it is OK. But is it?
MSS is downtown where there are several other casinos, but it is the oldest of the 3 choices adn the rooms are small. Orleans has a lot more casino space and a shuttle to the strip. Can't say about the Suncoast, as we are staying there for the first time in April. We have played there and everyone is friendly and the a choice of restraurants. It really is all about what you are looking for.
Hope you have a great time.
