Sunset or Aliante Station?

Snowgolfer, you're right. There are significant similarities between Red Rock and Aliante. As an out-of-towner, I fell in love with Red Rock and its beautiful, serene area from the moment I first visited it a week or so after it opened. The major difference I noticed was in size...the rooms, the lobby, etc....with Aliante, of course, the smaller of the two. The personnel at both facilities were friendly, professional, accommodating and just plain delightful. If pressed, I'd have to give the edge to the staff of Aliante...even though Sue was not working on the two days I was there. Had she been on duty at the Rewards Center on the days I spent at Aliante, I'd likely have rated it even higher!
One thing that I haven't seen addressed here is that I left North Las Vegas for the Palms at the height of rush hour and traffic on 215 was further backed up that day because of an accident so I shot south on Decatur to Flamingo. It was SO SIMPLE and not tedious at all. Sometimes you learn more about a city by NOT traveling it merely using the highways.
We just spent 3 nights at Aliante and were very pleased. The room was nice.Staff very friendly they would say hi as you walked by them.To cold for the pool this trip.Liked the buffet.Gaming was a little rough on us but thats ok.
We meet Sue on our last day there very very nice lady again Sue thanks for all the great info you post.

We are now at Red Rock Bigger casino Bigger rooms BIGGER CROWDS.
Don't care so much for the last one lol

The bed is very big here and very soft must be a super king.
Nice stripview from our room #17109

Aliante was nice but imho red rock is a little nicer. But i bet it shows in the rome rates also.
Yes, RR's room rates are higher, as is the resort fee. That's because it's one of the 2 "resort" properties (GVR is the other). Aliante is not a resort, it's a "locals casino hotel." Things at Red Rock that we don't have at Aliante -- a spa, bowling, live keno, Kids Quest.

It was nice meeting you and your wife, Mike. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at Aliante.

Offers to out-of-towners are different. If you play and stay at Aliante during a visit, you'll likely receive a future offer from Aliante. But if you also played a decent amount at Red Rock during your time in town, you may receive an offer from them, as well. Or, you could receive an offer that's good at all 8 Stations, including Aliante and GVR. I've seen people with various kinds of out-of-state mailers.

This does not sound like "We love Locals to me" considering that our offers are only good at Aliante? This whole slot club experience with Stations and Aliante is very confusing since we moved near Aliante.

Sue, we came here in October and I was getting my offers From Aliante and my husband was getting his from "the other Stations" so when we went to say Sante Fe, or Red Rock, etc. we used his card, when we went to Aliante we used my card. Then around Dec/Jan he starts getting only Aliante offers? His play should have been mostly at Sante Fe, but Aliante took over???? I really think that since we moved into Sun City Aliante that is why we are only getting Aliante offers? This benefits both Greenspun and Stations, since I think they want more people to go to Aliante. It is pretty dead compared to Cannery, Fiesta, etc. I really think Aliante is a nice casino, but we had to stop going to the other Stations casinos because they do not give us any reason to go there other than using our points to eat, etc, bowl, movie, room so we have not seen the inside of a Stations casino since Dec. We have been going to the M, Silverton, and Southpoint, along with the Coast Casinos. We do not want to go to just one casino. We are seniors, yes, but not that old that we do not want to travel around. LOL

Just my opinion. You are the expert, but I thought I would tell you how it happened to us as you had told us before that it was based on where you played, so my husband wanted to stay with Stations casino and made sure he used his greater play with his card there. I do not think it played (no pun) out that way with my husband.

The fact that locals get offers from either the "multi-properties" OR Aliante is a major problem around here. People don't understand the system, and I frankly don't like it. I'm afraid, however, that it's never going to change, as long as Greenspun is involved and the ownership of Aliante is different from that of the multi-properties (Santa Fe, Texas, Palace, Boulder, Sunset, and Red Rock). The same situation happens on the other end of town with GVR, whose offers are also separate.

If you were to stop playing at Santa Fe and started playing ONLY at Aliante, your mailers would be from Aliante within a couple of months. And vice versa -- stop playing at Aliante and play ONLY at one of the multi-properties, and you'll receive multi-property mailers. It is what it is.
Hi,
Thanks for all of the responses.
Station's latest offers included Two free nights and $29 a night on weekends. At RED ROCK! I jumped on that one since everything I've heard about Red Rock has been complimentary. Also, Aliante was sold out for one of the nights that I wanted. So, It all works out in the end.

Oh yes! We will still try to stop at Aliante just so I can meet the Famous Sue Casey.
When you Meet Sue..........Don't forget your Autograph book.

Does the "29 a night on weekends" also come with a resort fee? I got the same offer and was debating between that or a 3 nights free at Aliante.

Champtser,
It's been my experience that if it's comped- there is no resort fee.. if you get a rate like $29.00- then there is a fee.
If you get one of those $29 on the weekend offers, and you book on line (at www.stationcasinos.com/myhotel), you will come to a screen that tells you whether the fee has been waived or not before you have to confirm the reservation. We stayed at Red Rock in April and when I booked the reservation, it said "the resort fee has been waived for this special offer." I made sure to print that page out. Sure enough, we needed it because they tried to charge us the resort fee when we checked in, but then we showed them the printed out page and it was not charged to us. It seems to be a crap shoot though, you never know if they will charge you or not until you see it in writing. I do think you will be charged for it most of the time though (unless it's a free/comp night).
