Texas Station, Fiesta Rancho Now Plan to Remain Closed for One Year

Edited on Jun 26, 2020 8:18pm

Wow.   Palms is still closed too.

wouldnt be surprised to see fiesta Rancho close permanently.    Always seemed weird that Stations had two mega locals casinos right next door to each other.    I like both of them and  they seem to have their own crowd of regulars but it’s still a pretty odd location for them to be next door.

Also, those two casinos are in fairly poor neighborhoods, so they don't attract a lot of high-level play. At this point, they cannibalize each others' business.

Of course, they used to be bitter rivals. Maloof owned FR and Stations built TS across the street from him. The competition created some pretty juicy deals and kept Fiesta Rancho the best video poker destination on the planet for a long time.

When Texas Station opened, they had a promo wherein ALL four of a kinds, on ANY machine, paid double. You should have seen it. People were getting into fistfights. Players were urinating right at the machines rather than risk losing the seat to someone else. Harried slot attendants threatened to quit, as they scurried back and forth, verifying and paying the bonuses, and getting screamed at by players. Texas Station held out for a few days but ultimately canceled the promo before the week it was supposed to run was over, citing a loss of $26 million.

CEO says Fiesta Henderson, Fiesta Rancho, Texas Station, and Palms may never reopen.  It depends on the local economic recovery.

They had all become shadows of their former selves when the pandemic hit. The only positive was that the buffets had recently improved and were a great value. That ain't happening no more nowhere not nohow.

Hope the Palms opens!!

Any word on Main Street Station reopening Especially there

good reasonably priced buffet?

I revceived  a mailer for free play and food in September.   Pretty sure they are opening on the 3rd.  I cant speak to the buffet.  I would assume that will remain closed
