Tropicana hotel now a Doubletree by Hilton

I just stumbled on this when looking at Tropicana room rates.
Apparently Hilton started this month to manage the hotel.

I did try to search our forums here for Tropicana postings, but all I got was an error message.

Anyone have some info on the hotel, restaurants, casino, new players offers etc.

We haven't been in the Tropicana for over 15 years and hope we'd be classified as new players club members.

Thank you
I had heard there was going to be an affiliation with the Hilton chain and when I was at the Trop in late December I asked a boothling about it. She didn't say the Hilton was going to be managing it but she did speak of an affliation. I asked her if I'd be able to use Hilton Honors points to book free stays at the Trop and she said yes, I'd be able to do so. I don't expect I'll ever need to do that but it was good to know. My guess is you could probably earn HHonors points for staying there as well.
When I went to look at the room rates on the Tropicana website it went directly to the Hilton booking website. I've been thinking of adding a Sunday night stay to the front of our existing CP stay next month.
They've got it in the Hilton level 6 hotel category.

You are correct, Tropicana will continue to own and operate the hotel as a Doubletree by Hilton.

Do you know if the $200 loss promo is still active and where I could get more info about the promo?

I believe the promo is still on, at least as of late December.

Other than a large Bagatelle sign on the side of all that WHITE they painted Trop.,
theres not much left of Trop. Welcome HH.
I love the ceiling and the brightness of the place, but I found no good vp...of course my vp games are limited. I haven't been there in about 2 years and they would not let me consider myself a 'new' or reactivated account worthy of obtaining the $200 fp. I walked around, played some cheap craps ($5) and left.

That property has been all over the place. I don't know how many times it was going to be sold and imploded. One of my all-time favs in the past, great location, loved the swim up blackjack, casino small enough you could actually find your buddies in the casino (pre cell phone days lol). Always easy to slip $20 to the clerk upon check-in to get a suite upgrade.
I am a Diamond HH member and got an email yesterday offering promotions for a few Hilton Hotels across the country and the Tropicana was one of them. The email read like the Tropicana was 100% a Hilton, not just affiliated with the Hilton chain.
If you go to the Hilton site you will find the prices are in line with a Hilton property rather than a Vegas casino competing with many other properties. I see no way this can work-out for the Trop unless prices are lowered considerably. The $200 loss rebate was in effect as of Jan 30th.
