I've stayed at the Tuscany several times although it has been a few years. It is a fairly short walk to the strip. I would estimate that you could walk there in 10 to 15 minutes and this walk would put you at a busy intersection near Bally's and Caesars. The Tuscany is an all suites hotel with rooms in different buildings that are not connected to the casino. The rooms are about 600 sf each with a small refrigerator, a sofa, etc. and then the bed on the other side of the room. I appreciated the size of the room. My only complaint was they still had they old "tube" type TVs in the room rather than flat screens. The old TVs may have been replaced in the last couple of years, though. And yes, I know, who goes to Las Vegas to watch TV? But it's nice to relax in the room at times and enjoy a sitcom or sporting event.
The Tuscany is a "low" to "mid" rollers casino. They usually have $5 blackjack but at least a $10 table is available if the place is busy. Lots of 25 cent slots and video poker are available and the slot club is usually pretty generous about sending out free/discount room offers. It's not a large casino. There are maybe 5 blackjack tables and often only a couple of them are open as the place usually isn't busy. Some people find the casino quiet and dull but I don't mind a quieter place sometimes. I hate the places where slot machines are making all kinds of noise even when no one is playing, much less winning, on them. the sports book area is improved but still quite small.
I've never eaten at the Italian restaurant there. Usually you receive a nice discount to it upon check in. The food at the diner, Marilyn's, is pretty good. I haven't been impressed by the Mexican place though. A few years back the two bars in the casino offered $1 beers during all NFL games.
The pool area is pretty nice. Being a smaller property it doesn't have a huge pool but it's big enough for lounging and keeping cool. There's a second pool that is more of a lap pool that is near the workout room.
I would certainly stay at the Tuscany again but in recent years I've received lots of free offers from the Palms, Hard Rock and Venetian. Back in 2007 the front desk people let my friend and I check in and use our room before 9 a.m. so we could watch a college football game that we wanted to watch somewhere other than a sports book.
I hope this helps a little and that I didn't ramble too much. If there's anything else you want to know, feel free to ask.
