Tuscany Suites

Has anyone ever stayed at the Tuscany?
How was it?
How far off of the Strip is it?
How is the Casino? Low Roller or High Roller?
We have free rooms available for a trip in Sept. and are wondering if they are worth using.
I've stayed at the Tuscany several times although it has been a few years. It is a fairly short walk to the strip. I would estimate that you could walk there in 10 to 15 minutes and this walk would put you at a busy intersection near Bally's and Caesars. The Tuscany is an all suites hotel with rooms in different buildings that are not connected to the casino. The rooms are about 600 sf each with a small refrigerator, a sofa, etc. and then the bed on the other side of the room. I appreciated the size of the room. My only complaint was they still had they old "tube" type TVs in the room rather than flat screens. The old TVs may have been replaced in the last couple of years, though. And yes, I know, who goes to Las Vegas to watch TV? But it's nice to relax in the room at times and enjoy a sitcom or sporting event.

The Tuscany is a "low" to "mid" rollers casino. They usually have $5 blackjack but at least a $10 table is available if the place is busy. Lots of 25 cent slots and video poker are available and the slot club is usually pretty generous about sending out free/discount room offers. It's not a large casino. There are maybe 5 blackjack tables and often only a couple of them are open as the place usually isn't busy. Some people find the casino quiet and dull but I don't mind a quieter place sometimes. I hate the places where slot machines are making all kinds of noise even when no one is playing, much less winning, on them. the sports book area is improved but still quite small.

I've never eaten at the Italian restaurant there. Usually you receive a nice discount to it upon check in. The food at the diner, Marilyn's, is pretty good. I haven't been impressed by the Mexican place though. A few years back the two bars in the casino offered $1 beers during all NFL games.

The pool area is pretty nice. Being a smaller property it doesn't have a huge pool but it's big enough for lounging and keeping cool. There's a second pool that is more of a lap pool that is near the workout room.

I would certainly stay at the Tuscany again but in recent years I've received lots of free offers from the Palms, Hard Rock and Venetian. Back in 2007 the front desk people let my friend and I check in and use our room before 9 a.m. so we could watch a college football game that we wanted to watch somewhere other than a sports book.

I hope this helps a little and that I didn't ramble too much. If there's anything else you want to know, feel free to ask.

T.H.
Thanks for the info.

How did you get a free room offer without ever having stayed there?

Love the Tuscany!

Believe the rooms have all been upgraded with flat screen TVs (ours was). They keep the rooms/buildings updated on a regular basis. You can upgrade to a 'pool room' which overlooks the pool area, but if you're not using the room for any length of time you may want to forego the extra fee.
The bartenders are great, and as mentioned, drink specials abound. (gambling perks too - hit 4 of a kind get an appetizer). There is a new lounge (formerly the poker room) in the main casino, did not have an opportunity to check it out on last visit.
The Italian restaurant (Tuscany Gardens) is decent, servers are very friendly, and with the discount coupons well worth a visit. Concur about Marilyns, good coffee shop food and the breakfasts and other specials are reasonably priced. The bar/lounge area across from the front lobby is nice, they have entertainment regularly and is adjacent to the pool area. Please note this area is non-smoking.

The Slot Club Personnel are top notch, ensure you sign up for a players card as there are many promotions going on at any given time.

A hidden gem around the corner is Ellis Island for their BBQ ribs & chicken. Its a small smokey casino but you will be hard presssed to find better ribs at a great price. (other food choices are good too) - use comon sense when walking there as the area is not the best especailly late at night.

You will not be disapointetd with your stay at the Tuscany.

Our daughter got them for going to a timeshare presentation last year and we have been offered free nights if we go to one this year.
Please post about the food there...We willbe going this winter and I would appreciate any input. Thanks
We stayed at the Tuscany last August and are staying again this year for Thanksgiving. I love it.
Plenty of Video Poker and they do cater to the locals which for me means low rollers. Friendly staff and short walk to everything on the strip. The restaurants are decent as well. Have fun!
