Ven/Pal Offers Fine Print...........

THIS First sentence wording continues to be what I have big problems with!

*Offer is expressly conditioned upon recipient maintaining his or her historical level of play as of the mailing date of this offer.

I just got of the phone with Ven. Casino Mkting and had a 15 min dialogue and them trying to Convince me
that Ven/Pal ISN"T going to Hold us to "historical level" of play. They say that wording "just means you HAVE Historical play at Ven/Pal."

Oh yeah? Then why have it in there?
They told me the "wording won't change, its always said that."

Ok, well, most of your PAST Grazie customers that have been reemed the past 8 months, might
want a better explanation, or REMOVE the Historical level of play- wording!

I just got a 2 nite comp stay from Wynn. Just read their Fine Print. Guess what?
No historical level mention in there. My guess CE & MGM doesn't have it either.......

But, Ven/Pal marketing Wants you to Believe they Won't harrass you at checkout that you
didn't play enough...........They won't try & charge you......
They want you to believe that if you play zero, it will affect Future offers, but not right then.

Huh, well Fine. I expect it to affect Future offers If I play Zero!
I just want something In Writing, because I don't trust them.

The rest of the fine print, if you're bored & want to read it:

Proper proof of identification is required. This offer is intended solely for the person with the Grazie ID number referenced above. The Venetian and The Palazzo will only honor offers made to the intended recipient and will not honor any offers that have been sent or received in error. Must be 21 years of age or older. Offer is non-transferable and subject to availability. Guest may receive multiple promotional or event offers. Guest is limited to one promotional or event offer reservation at any given time. A minimum stay of two nights is required. Any additional suites or nights are at the prevailing rate. Cancellations must be received 72 hours prior to arrival or will be subject to a charge up to $350 plus tax for the first night's room. Suite accommodations are based on Luxury Suites at The Venetian or The Palazzo. Offer is based on single or double occupancy and added charges may apply for additional guests. Must present credit card at time of booking and upon check-in.
A while back I recieved an offer of 4 nights comped from them. I also read the fine print and didn't like it. I asked about it on this board and was told by several posters not to worry about it. They will not charge you anything for the room. I was a little skeptical like you are and stayed 4 nights comped at Paris instead.

I recieved and booked a 3 night comped stay at Wynn for the end of this month. None of that suspicious small print on the Wynn offer.
It comes down to trust I suppose.

I have heard others here say that statement means you got the room because of your past history and what they are trying to say is that if you use the offer and dont play up to historical levels you should not expect further offers. However I am mindful of the way they have treated some here including last minute withdrawal of offers.

Like most properties they do require a credit card to hold the room and for any incidentals. They can, of course, merely charge it at the end of your stay should you not comply with what the wording is. One can say what one wants, what they are told it REALLY means, but the fact is if you agree to the terms they are as written.

And to be honest I just dont trust V/P that much anymore.
You are both correct.

Yo eleven, I got the same Wynn offer........and so I printed out the Fine Print, to compare to
the Fine print from Ven/Pal.?

Wynn does NOT have that "historical level" baloney. And I believe CE/HET, and MGM doesn't have it either

I Told V/P Mkting this fact..........and I got a phone/shrug, that Mgt. probably won't ever change it, because its "always been worded that way."

Well, like Marc said...........we don't have to like it...........and I DON'T Like it. And I DON'T Trust 'em.

You do know that you will start your trip in the hole on your comp account don't you? Until you earn enough points to cover the room comp you will not be eligible for any food etc. I found this out after a BJ pit boss gave me a food voucher and they refused to honor it.

Not the kind of people I care to do business with.
I am suddenly getting all kinds of offers from the Venetian. Obviously their plan to eliminate comps to all but high rollers has backfired and they are trying to lure back their old mid-level players.
But like others have said - I DON'T TRUST THEM! How could you after all the stories of last minute cancelled reservations?
The problem is that I used to love the place and I hate knowing that I can never go back there again. But they are the ones who burned that bridge.
Besides the historical play how about they wont honor any offers sent or recieved in error .

Holy crap! I have never heard of this ever.

Can they do that? Guess so. Sucks big time.
I've not played there in a number of years so I have no attachment or affiliation.

My take is that they have demonstrated a total lack of honor and ethics in their handling of marketing comps. Many of you were directly affected by this. At the same time, it's clear from their L.V. financial results that Adelson's new master plan is not working. They are now apparently back peddaling in order to try to get gamblers back in the door.

It begs the question as to why any of you would consider going back knowing what you do? OK, it's a nice property with a good selection of restaurants but do they have something you want that no one else can provide? The gambling isn't all that great....there are generally clearly better places to play within walking distance.

CLV, I believe the small print will trump the phone conversation all the time.

Personally, that relationship with me would be over. Too many other/better options to consider for me to go back. They'd have to make some unconditional offers and throw in free play for my "pain and suffering" for me to ever consider going back. The current offer still sounds like it's framed in "we're doing you a favor" instead of "sorry, we screwed up".

Just my take....

Dan
I hear ya FED, and I like how you put that............so from all of our Insights here, I printed out
a New & improved Letter to send to Ven/Pal.

If anyone knows a NAME of a Exec (besides Sheldon & Tyler Bain) to address it to?
I will be sending it out asap. Thanks
