Venetian/Palazzo, Offers, online or snail mail? UPDATES, if you have any New Info? Thx.

I thought maybe I had burned my bridges with V/P because I used a lot of rooms last year but maybe I am just like everyone else and getting no offers.
I really like staying there because I play a lot of poker in their poker room, but the offers from others are still good staying at Wynn and Monte Carlo my trip
next week for CES. Seems a very short sighted strategy when everyone else is offering so many comps to just cut off your good customers like they
have. I am going to throw some play at Cosmo and see what kind of offers they have the rooms there look beautiful and I love the Terraces.
I also posted this in the generic "Hotels" category:

I used to get something from them almost every week to some goofy slot or VP tourney, with free rooms. And always an over-arching 4-night room deal in the background. Then -- Poof, no more postcards but an e-mail from my new "host."

He said they had a lot of convention business and weren't holding any "events" any longer. I could come for my nights on the casino rate, which ranged from $209 to $129 for the three weekend nights in January and then see how things shook out. Based on my summer play, I might get a night or two; based on last winter, he'd comp the whole thing. (I go to Vegas twice a year and tend to hang out more in summer and gamble more in winter.)

He seemed uninterested in my VP play, which I always thought was decent, but liked my BJ play at $300/hand. Four hours a day, and it would be no problem-o.

How I ever got credited, even with my smooth Comp City moves, for $300 a hand, I have no idea. But I'm going, and I'll play four hours a day at whatever I play, which I would say is probably about $75 a hand, and we'll see what shakes out.

"Seems a very short sighted strategy when everyone else is offering so many comps to just cut off your good customers like they have."

You said a mouthful, volfanga
Just really burns my craw, that I spent so much time & gaining Points there all year,
expecting Next year to have really Great offers?

Only to have the rug pulled out.

If this continues......would have been a total waste of time, and big slap in the face to all of us players.

Here's the Name & email add from the other thread, so we don't have to "moan & groan" in vain.

So has Anyone heard from Tyler? I haven't.

At least when I contacted a Host, she had the courtesy to reply.........although generic, it was a reply.

Still squat offers at V/P. I've pretty much written them off.

I'm surprised No other hotels have picked up on this, and run with it........like with No resort fees.........

There's a story here, and so far, its not being told.

Oh but they have. They see others getting "resort fees" and they jump on the gravy train. They see others dump good VP and so do they. They see others getting away with 6/5 BJ and there they are. Oh they pick up on it and run but not the way we might think they would.
Thanks for the post marcr.

To be alittle more specfic, I meant along the lines of Offers/Promotionss.

Like when Others had Resort fees, HET jumped on advertising, "NO Resort Fees".

I'm surprised nobody has caught on to V/P's NO offers/promotions stand, the past several monts..........with advertising like:

WE STILL GOT COMP OFFERS!

WE GOT TOURNEYS!

WE STILL HAVE A PROMOTIONS DEPT.!!!

Hi,
I used to gamble at Palazzo a great deal and the offers were good. Now they are not, but I have not been gambling like I used to. But huge fall off on comps.

Professor
I emailed a business/gaming reporter at the LVRJ and the editor of Casino Player and shared our collective story of getting screwed by V/P. Haven't gotten any response, but hopefully someone will look into it.

It's definitely newsworthy to the thousands and thousands who drop a lot of money in Vegas -- not to mention, I'd genuinely like to know the business reason behind this V/P decision. Seems kinda counter-productive to me.
