Venetian/Palazzo SANDS reaps what they sow.....Who didn't see this coming?

Same with me. They still show me as Gold so use I the Gold lounge and their free airport shuttle and stay at TI or Wynn for free.
Updated article.

Interestingly enough most analysts mention they need to give the "new" (which is actually more their old) business model a year before definite statement on success or failure.
Marcr, Thats the Vegas version of the early May article. Liz got it almost right.

Walked thru Ven/Pal, Thurs morning..........as I still use the Bags 2 Go dropoff at Pal.
Only $10 on SW, get rid of your bag early, and get your boarding pass. Luv that.
Plus the Bags 2 Go is just steps from the Elevator to parking garage. (if you go to correct elevator bank)

Decided to Walk thru Pal & into Ven, just for the heck of it.......they were putting up a Flag, 4th of July
looking display in the waterfall area.

Just as I thought, plenty of Convention badges running around, but hardly any casino players.
Went to the Gold lounge, at Ven. to See whats the happs?

They had plenty of muffins (only a couple gone) & the usual coffee urns.
No sodas, No juice & No bottles of water around.........

Took a muffin, and asked for a To go cup for Coffee. I was out of there in less than a minute.
Only One man sitting alone in there.
What a waste.
If you ask me the whole town is suffering from business decisions such as this. While Sheldons may be one of the worst I think all of the casinos are guilty of getting to greedy and driving off the average Joe. This town would have been able to weather this economic downturn a lot better if it hadn't already priced itself out of the market. It used to be Vegas was a fun cheap vacation, now it is no cheaper than any other tourist trap in the country. They've raised the food prices the minamums, lowered payouts and given worse odds on games they already have the advantage on. They have done nothing but hurt themselves.

We are aleady seeing the impact of this and other decisions by various companies up and down the strip. Sheldon and Wynn seemed to have a feud going on which did help the players.

Once V/P stopped even pretending to have any good VP Wynn didnt have to match or one up Sheldon. Wynn/Encore has steadily gutted their VP inventory now dumping even the $5 decent plays, though they still reward their players.

With very few exceptions there is nothing really playable on the strip at $1 or below and even $5 in danger. VP is an endangered animal on the strip as more and more players learn better strategy and how to take advantage of the various offers. Many casinos (talking primarily the strip here folks) dont see the VP player as worth the trouble and while it will hang on as a novelty it may have run its course.
