Pretty amazing.    By all accounts Virgin is largely a ghost town even with Vegas having record attendance.

I guess they figure the few people that like it enough to go will still go even with the resort fee.

My big, worthless. uninformed  prediction : that place is closed by this time next year.

I like how they passed it off as competitive pressure to present lower prices in the booking engines. I hear it is a very nice place, but I doubt if I ever make it over there. What is the supposed draw as an off-strip property?

I think thats the million dollar question they dont have an answer for.

Hard Rock had some decent, bargain eateries with somewhat decent games and player promotions.   Not to mention the matchplays in the coupon books.

Virgin is like a little mini Resorts World - just in a much worse location.

Did Virgin keep the rock memorabilia?

I wasn't sure what needed to be changed.  The room were very nice, particularly in the 2 newer towers.  We liked Mr. Lucky's & the pizza shop ws decent.  The high end restaurants although pricey were pretty good.

The rooms at Virgin are not as nice as the old Hard rock.  They are redone to apeal to a younger crowd I guess.  Cheap wood floors.  Low beds, with average comfort.  It did upgrde some sensor lighting ect, but nothing special.   Bad rewards program and bad games.  We tried it a 2nd time on wed evening

Yeah, I stopped in on three diffrent trips, and kept giving it a chance, but, basically, it has no appeal.   Their tiny Sports Book was never even open, they have no Racebook, and, in the casino, they had two blackjack games open and zero UTH tables.    All-in-all, totally fogettable.   I even wondered why I went back the third time LOL?

I think the folks who sank so much cash into this property assumed that the current feeding frenzy would extend to it. But its location is pretty crappy. The Hard Rock overcame that by being quirky and unique and offering some good stuff like the $7.77 steak special. But there's no reason now to wander over to the Virgin for bad gambling and overpriced everything. Feh.

I really really want the twenty or so biggest ripoff Vegas casinos to fail miserably. They deserve it. The lemmings fueling the boom will run out of money eventually. (Or, they'll get sick of being rode hard and put up wet by the casinos.)
