What's Happening at M?

I booked a trip in late December through my host at M. After I arrived, I found out she was no longer there. So I got a new host and tried calling her last week to book a room for the end of March, only to find that she had "left" also. I was also told that even though I had free room offers, I couldn't use them as the hotel was heavily booked for the days I wanted. I could come if I were willing to pay around $150/night. I was surprised because I had never experienced this problem at M before, and I said no thanks. I know M has stopped sending out the freebie gift coupons, and they've reduced the weekend multipliers, but is there something else going on with management that's not so apparent here?
Maybe March Madness had something to do with it, since you called to book only last week. Sounds ominous, though, two hosts leaving. Wonder where they went?
"" they've reduced the weekend multipliers""

Can you expand on that? They have been 2x Friday to Sunday for a year or so. What/when'how are they "reduced"?
I had the same experience at the M. My regular Host left. The M was unresponsive as to her new location (I found her at the Palms). The person who took over my account was a complete jerk. I wrote a letter to the Vice President of the M. He gave me a call and essentially blew me off..I am staying at the M this weekend, however, I will have nothing to do with the Hosts at the M. The feeling I get is that they prefer asian clients. I will stay and play at the M as I like the place, however, dealing with the Hosts leaves a lousy taste and ruins what is always a good visit to Vegas and the M so I will avoid them.

Our host disappeared too a few months back...they said she "retired". And the freebies they hand out have gone way down in quality, not to mention the severe reduction in point multipliers. My wife and I used to go there all of the time, but have lately been cutting it back to once/month or so, if that.

Between that and their shutting down Veloce Cibo, there just hasn't been that much of a reason for us to visit anymore.
My host was not responsive anyway so I was glad to hear that he was gone. Haven't tried to contact anyone else there as this was once our first choice but, there's a long list of reasons that we don't play there anymore starting with them tightening the VP payouts, Cantor management of the sportsbook (terrible customer service) and the drop in quality at the buffet.

Now very happy at the SouthPoint or the Boyd properties.
Well, I don't ever speak to my host any longer.

I just go by back-and-forth emails.

I suppose they may have switched me.

I know she's still an Asian lady.

I guess I should pay more attention to who
is sending the email. LOL

Anyway, comps are still good there so...

I think the main problem is not so much they cater to Asian players but that their room
capacity is kind of small.

They said they only had 300 something rooms and only a scarce number of suites.

I think it's more of a locals' place.
IMO What you are seeing is the effects of the new owners (Penn National).
Comps have slowly been going down since Marnell lost control
Last trip March 1 all the crapola was out. I play 8/5BP - 3P .25 and $ one line (with a decent amount of slots) had been reduced to 7/5 with a progressive.

In the past especially for a weekend you needed to call as soon as you got their offer. There were times when I waited to call and got shut out because the offer was filled. They only set aside a certain amount of comp rooms for each offer.
Penn National has casinos in areas outside of Las Vegas and I was told by people who play at Penn that they were being offered comps to M.
May be this is cutting down on offers.
Rambler,

That's really disappointing about the continuing downgrades to the VP. Not sure what they are thinking since their nearest competition (SouthPoint and GVR) both have much better VP offerings. It's a shame because they have a beautiful property but their location would seem to require some decent games to get people in the door.

Our favorites at M are the 3-play .25 progressives that (I think) had 8/6 JOB that paid 130 for 4OAK - not the greatest but with a decent progressive they were playable. Any idea of those still remain? There were four of them in a row opposite the center bar.

We're planning a trip for late June and I've yet to email my "host" - we'll see what gets offered.

Thanks,

Jimbo

Don't know about the 8/6JOB. I know the area in the casino If I looked and saw it wasn't 9/6 I didn't look what 4oak paid and moved on to BP.
