Where Would You Stay - California or Main Street Station?

IMHO MSS has a nicer atmosphere and rooms and the scratch cards. With the walkway connecting to the Cal you can easily access any of the Cal's dining options. MSS 777 Brewpub is excellent.

The last I heard was that Hawaii was a state so I believe they are American customers from Hawaii. I know the large majority of them were born and raised in Hawaii. I guess the same would be true for California. Why would it be a minus to be with Americans no matter what or where there ancestors came from?
johnnyone- don't be so naive. I would find your response/question acceptable if it wasn't so obvious as to why lvfan609 made his statement.
Drmilled: It is not being naïve, but definitely a stupid remark to a stupid description of gamblers from Hawaii.

The kicker is the statement “….not sure if would be a plus or minus for you….” May be you can interpret that statement, especially the minus part? Is there some negativity associated with being with people from Hawaii? No comments necessary.

Guess I should also comment on the basic question. Comparing the hotels, which are favorites of those from Hawaii, I would say they both are about the same. I personally like the video poker machines at MSS.

Well I have stayed at both and they are nice properties with good Video Poker so pick either one and you should be happy.

As for the "obvious why lvfan609 made the statement" statement I think people are trying to over-analyze it. Maybe Connell would love to be around that crowd, maybe connell would hate to be around that crowd. I don't know and don't care; that is connell's business and not mine. I was simply stating an observation I made about the customers there.
lvfan609, I thought of a more long drawn out response, but decided on the following. What “minus” exists if anyone of European descent visits a Las Vegas casino with many Asian Americans? Why would they “hate“ to be around “that crowd“?

What if the roles were reversed? I have yet to hear one Asian American or Hawaiian who expressed any “minus” to being in the many Las Vegas casinos where they obviously were the minority and outnumbered far more than the ratio at the California Hotel.

I agree with this. I've stayed at MSS many times. During our last trip, we were able to look at a room at the Cal, and we weren't impressed. Admittedly, we didn't lay on the bed or anything, but the beds at MSS are very good. We'll stay with MSS

MSS is better than the Cal except for location. So it depends on whats more important to you. However, the Golden Nugget has been having great rates the last couple of years and I would suggest you look into staying at the Nugget.
The plus to being around a ton of Hawaians is I feel tall and thin

The Cal's location is better than MSS? Geez, they're right across the street from each other.
