WTF South Point???

OK, this is strange. I signed up for South Point's players' club on the very first week they opened. Since then, I've given them a lot of action and stayed there often. They've given me offers, the generosity of which, as others have noted in their experience, has waxed and waned with whatever my most recent results have been like. Lose, and I get good offers. Win...not so much.

But the peculiarity has been that since I signed up (2006?), I have never received a single piece of snail mail OR an email from them. Periodically, I've checked with the players' club to see if they've had my correct address. Yep, they have. I've checked with my host(s), which I've always had...and yep, they had my current info. But for the last 16+ years...no mail for YOU, said the Mail Nazi.

Until today! "What's New in February at South Point!" in my inbox. All the stuff you might see in a mailer (no offers, though). I wonder what changed?? I mean, I've known for some time of their policy of giving non-locals short shrift (for a long, long time, it seemed like their message was "Don't come here!"). It certainly wasn't prompted by any action I've given them recently--the last time I played there was last summer, and only for about an hour one evening after eating there.

Anyone else (non-local) gotten some recent new attention from them?

In what form have your offers been coming?  Phone calls?  You check their web site yourself for offers?

email and snail mail are the ways I get offers, though my friend does check web sites when she hasn't seen anything (not South Point but other places).

Do you check your Spam box?  Now and then something ends up there that normally comes to my regular email address, though never anything there from casinos.

I check with my host, usually, but sometimes I have fired up a VP machine and found there was free play waiting for me. Most of the time, I've had two or three nights comped up front and gotten the rest taken care of at the end of my stay. But there's really no rhyme or reason to how much I get any more. Good stuff comes out of the blue; conversely, substantial play is rewarded with...nothing. I'm convinced that an insane, evil clown is in charge of South Point's players' club. The goofy part is that it's actually one of the best, if not the best, in terms of direct rewards for your play.

Obviously, other folks receive communication from them, so I don't know what it is with me. I long ago gave up trying to fix it. I wondered if maybe it was my zip code...? The slot club manager has an old girlfriend who dumped him who lives there, or something?

Oh, and it's not because I'm a big lifetime winner there. My records show that I'm less than $1,000 ahead over the last 16 years. And of course, I do get those "secret" offers fairly regularly. It's just that getting an actual email from them, out of the blue after all this time, has me gobsmacked.

I get no emails but I've mentioned before to you that I get the quarterly mailer for an out of towner.  And I've gotten it for a good 8-10 years.  Once in a great moon I don't get a quarterly mailer but I think it is because my wife accidentally tossed it out.

I find it very odd that you don't get one.  I recently got a buddy going there and he got a mailer after about a year.  He now goes 2x a year.  I think it might be Kevin that you aren't going regularly.  I go 5x a year and even a low VP average of like $20K per trip still means I'm running $100K through a year so they treat me pretty well.  (75% of my time gaming there is in poker room)

What I like is I just get the standard 2 nights Sun-Thurs with discounted weekends and minimal free play.  But many times they comp my 3rd night when I book.  And on trips they don't comp it, I don't mind paying or I ask before I leave.....especially if I lose on VP.  It's usually comped then.

I eat using points from VP and poker and it seems like those point balances never go down.  I basically earn what I use each trip to eat.

I have stayed at the South Point for years. I don't know the guidelines for how they handle their promotions, but, like Jerry, I also get the quarterly mailer and I do receive e-mail offers. There is a lady in promotions by the name of Nicki (I believe that is how she spells her name ) who is in charge of promotions. I have spoken with her twice about my personal promotions and she was helpfull and explained that there is another entity that sends out offers based upon play. I suggest that anyone who has questions about their offers to call/see Nicki at the promotions desk. I am sure she would be helpful in answering questions.
