Your 1st Vegas hotel?

It's been done before, but not for a long time.

In the summer 1981 four friends and I drove across from North Carolina. We all had really bad fake ID's. Came across Hoover Dam and down the Boulder Highway. Drove straight down Fremont Street. Saw the fresh and new Union Plaza. Stayed for the night. You?
Bally's was the first casino/hotel where we stayed. 1 year before the fire I think 1979. Would walk up to the old Alladin for the prime rib special. Nothing can beat the first trip people, lights, action.
CES, 1981 - Holiday Inn Key Largo on Paradise.
June 1988 on a Delta flight+ hotel special at Stardust. We liked the Vegas experience so much that we have visited Las Vegas at least twice per year since. Sadly, at age 75 and physical problems, wife says this December trip will be our last. When we leave on Dec. 27, it will be a sad day in the "sadlass" household.

2001 Caesars. We were worried about flights due to no fly after 9/11. Security was a nightmare out of Boston Logan as you can imagine. Strip was desolate as few people were willing to fly. I think the trip through security at McCarran was about 3 hours on the Wednesday we flew back to Boston. That security line jaded me because I still show up to the airport 3+ hours early
July 2002, America West flight & hotel special at Caesar's.

6 days just flew by. Never even left the Strip because we didn't know any better.

Casino employees walked around and got us to sign up for club cards...again, what did we know?

"Gee, even though it's 105 degrees outside, it doesn't look like THAT far of a walk to Mandalay Bay..." Again, what did we know?

10 years and almost 30 trips later, thinking about that 1st trip still brings smiles to our faces.

Sadlass, enjoy your last trip, my friend. Make sure you leave some money for the rest of us!

Bushman
Super Bowl weekend February 2010 at the Mirage then the Venetian.

We had such a great time we have been back 5 or 6 times since and will be back this November

and february.
My first visit was with my father many years ago...we stayed at the Stratosphere.

I'll never forget the hysterical and awkward moment at 4AM when we were woken up by our neighbor next door who was banging his headboard into our wall with a cheap hooker.

I was embarrassed, entertained, giddy, and angry all at the same time. I make a point of visiting the Stratospher every trip.
1979, the first trip for the Bobs. We stayed at the old MGM Grand (now Bally's). The dealers were immense a**holes as those were the days when the high end casinos promoted their dealers to not speak.
Hacienda

My mother took me for my 21st birthday. I chose the Hacienda because my landlord won a jackpot.
