Your 1st Vegas hotel?

May 2001 NYNY on a package deal from Southwest. I became hooked, and been back to LV about 20 times since then (although only stayed at NYNY one other time). -Russ
August 1,1984. Our 25 th. anniversary. The Frontier. Seigfried & Roy were the headliners. We don't go in August any more. Too hot. We now go in the spring & fall. We split between downtown & the strip.
Jan. 1987 coming home from SB XXI. Missed connecting flight in Vegas and they put me up at the Hacienda. Flew home next morning. Funny thing is I was going to Vegas for the first time the next weekend with group from work. Stayed at the Westward Ho. Nice place, lol.
February 1998, Plaza. 1st of 42 trips.

Hey Now!
Vegoose 2005, stayed at Terrible's. Met Ziggy the bartender, and became great friends. Vegoose is no more, but we have been back 3 more times and are headed back for Labor Day!
December 2005.

We originally booked for April 2004 but Hubs fell out of the attic in the garage on Easter Sunday and broke 5 ribs, punctured a lung, broke his collar bone, and had 8 staples in his head. So after 3 days in ICU I figured he wouldn't be such good company in Vegas 2 weeks later and we postponed. I did buy trip insurance since he has a sis and a dad that had some iffy health at the time so we got all our money back bu the $35 for the trip insurance.

I think the total package cost was $410 for air and the Luxor for 3 days, two nights.
We stayed in the pyramid and we gambled almost exclusively at Excalibur.
By the end of the trip we were THRILLED to have earned a denim jacket with the Luxor logo.
I consider it my $5,000 denim jacket. LOL
I'm not sure what the comp rate was then, but that was my rough estimate at the time.
And, we had enough comps for a free last meal in the cafe at Luxor.

We had a nice winning streak on the big bertha machine at Excalibur and drew quite a crowd!

It was a fabulous trip and we were hooked.

Only problem was we received almost no offers from either Luxor or Excalibur to come back.

But we did start getting nice offers from the Paris.
I had registered there, even though we barely played there.

So we went back to Paris the next year for a slot tournament and a free room and we've stayed at Paris free every trip since.
Thanksgiving Eve 2005. Cabbed to the Orleans for 1 night. Got way drunk, had a blast, lost lots of money, found out how much the average boob job investment of various cocktail servers, thought I was in heaven.
Been back about 60 times because my son is a pilot for Continental, maybe United now. Started at Boyds, now mostly Stations. Love that town!
September 2002 as part of a 3 week road trip - we spent 4 Days at the Luxor. i won $13 on my first 25c go.. only ate in the Luxor buffet and barely went inside many other casinos. i didnt have any gambling money , had no idea why people were putting their credit cards ( players cards) in the slots and thought you had to pay for the coin buckets, not to mention cocktails !!!

. 8 trips later and wiser , i get everthing i can comped and had so many wonderful experiences in Vegas - wish i could have told my 2002 self what they were missing out on
Summer 1974. My family drove from Tennessee to Cali and on our way back, we stayed overnight in Vegas. After driving down the Strip a while, we picked the El Morocco which was close to Stardust. I still remember standing outside that night in the El Morocco parking lot looking at the Stardust sign, mesmerized. That hooked me on Vegas, right then and there.

I was only 15 at the time. I had already stopped growing and was 6'3", and we took a "gamble" that I would not be kicked out of the El Morocco's casino for being underage. There was security that really seemed to be watching me (or so I thought) but I was not kicked out. I played penny slots, and one time won $1. As the machine spit out the 100 coins, I thought that was the coolest thing. But as all too often happens even today - I put all of my "winnings" back into the machine!
First time (1988) stayed at Flamingo Hilton. Stayed on strip a few more times after that and since then always Downtown.
