Anchors Away!

In keeping with trying to get a new post here every couple of months, here we go!

Wasting some time on the net this morning, I was reminded the ban starts today. Personally I tried it a couple of times, but it always felt awkward. I understand the rule interpretation affecting this, but still don't understand why it was allowed for so long to enforce it. Adam Scott putted convention for years before using it, but someone like Keegan Bradley probably never has. Then of course there's always the Champions Tour players, some of which do it as much if not more for the back rather than the yips. There are definitely two sides to this question.

Good Luck!

Those long putters always looked "dorky" to me anyway. Never used one, so it won't affect me.
I agree with the look. As I said above it just felt strange to use one. Of course, so did left hand low at first, but after a round at Angel Park using it, I've never gone back. I just don't understand banning it after so many years. Especially for ams, as they need every edge they can get. I still feel it shouldn't be changed at all, but pros had three years to change. If they weren't proactive on this it's their own fault. Right or wrong, they knew it was coming.

Most recreational players look dorky in general, between attire and their athleticism. lol

As for the ruling, I still think it was much ado about nothing but the USGA has a way of passing rules that really aren't that germane to the game played at our level, anyway.

LOVING my new Callaway irons.
