Boulder City is the town's muni and Boulder Creek is the upscale step-sibling. For the tourist possessing no comps, heavy discounts or a locals friend to provide guest pricing, it the best value in town. Rack rate is 2/3s of what Las Vegas Golf Club charges and a better play. It has a plain Jane clubhouse that some breakfast offerings, sandwiches and burgers. Be sure to order at the counter though or you ain't eatin'! Of course there's also the usual assortment of beer, wine and liquor. It's a decent play that they've dressed up a bit in the last ten years. It's a real muni though as you'll find no dress code and you'll see some of the regulars walking too. Before my best bud moved to LV, this was our default course if we couldn't find a good deal at any of the resort courses. We still play there from time to time.
Boulder Creek was built in the golf developement hey day of the late 90s. It has three good nines and a very nice clubhouse. Prices are higher, but still a very good value for Vegas (it's all relative). One nice aspect is that it offers no housing around the course. I'm they planned to, but it didn't happen.
Either course is a good value in it's catagory. They're only about 25 minutes from the south strip. If you want breakfast on the way out, I have two suggestions. Believe it or not, the first is the cafe at the Railroad Pass Hotel Casino on the way. The place is a dump, but they run some good specials in the cafe. It got to the point a few years back that we officially dubbed it "tradition." The other choice is the Coffee Cup cafe in Boulder City. It's been on the Food and Travel channels for offering great breakfast food.
See, there's more to playing golf in Boulder City than you thought!
Good Luck!
