in LV as you do, there's little reason to play in the as normally you can wait ten minutes and play without it, the last few days notwithstanding. I live in Seattle which is known for the wet stuff. I no longer play in the rain, but time was my buddy (who has lived in LV the last 15 years) and I would play anytime the temp was above 40 and there wasn't a downpour occurring. If you're going to be an avid golfer up here, you're going to have to brave the elements sometimes. Goretex is a big seller up here and for good reason. I've known golfers paint their balls (golf balls) red to play in the snow. Personally, the only place I've ever played in the snow was at the Legacy back in the mid ninties. It started on 16 and was coming down heavy by the time we finished.
At this point I want to be comfortable and enjoy myself. Rain doesn't fit into that equation. I'm far more comfortable playing when it's 115 than when it's wet. If it's 50 and dry though, I'm out there. I remember playing at Red Rock on Xmas day one year (it was 60) and not feeing a chill until the sun went down.
I'm sure there are a few hackers out there with some good foul weather stories.
Good Luck!
