How many Hole-In-Ones have you had?

Just curious. Personally I have had two, both rather distinct and both during tournaments.

The first was during a member/guest at my club. The ninth hole was 130 yards long and heading towards the Club House. Needless to say there were many people mulling around the adjacent "turn shack" and Club House deck. My beautiful 9 iron shot soared high into the sky. Alas only to come up short and head straight for the sand trap. Much to my surprise and shock it happened to strike a rake left fortuitously in the right place. The ball bounced out onto the green and proceeded to the hole. I was awarded a trophy at the awards dinner. Sure enough it was the rake with the appropriate plaque attached.

The second happened in Myrtle Beach. This time a 184 yard hole over water and into the setting sun. My choice of weapon was a 5 iron and I struck it well enough to clear the water albeit with a very low trajectory. In fact everyone in the group lost sight of it, due to the sun in our eyes. Once everybody reached the green there were only 3 orbs to be seen. Mine was shortly discovered in the cup for another exhilarating golf moment.

How and when were yours achieved?

Do almosts count?

1.12th hole at TPC short par 3 into the sun. I didnt see it , but I hit it well, and I heard the pin rattle. Drove up...damn ball mark was about an inch from the cup. The ball hitting the stick put it about 5 feet from the pin. I MISSED the putt

2. 16th Hole Barefoot Resort Norman Course (Myrtle Beach) downhill short par 3, 9 iron dropped and stopped 3 inches from the hole. I MADE this putt hahahahahahah

My lone ace was on a 133yd hole over a small pond. The green was severely sloped back to front. The front third of the green is very soft. The smart shot is to play to the front half of the green as anything pin high is very difficult to putt. I hit a semi-bladed PW on a good line (obviously) barely onto the green. It tore a gash in the green about 6 inches long before hitting the base of the flagstick about 20' away with a loud 'CLANG' and hid. The one on the card looks just as good as if I had hit a nice, floating shot which gently snuck over the lip of the cup. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it. 7/17/1994

No

Nada for me. But as I posted elsewhere, I had a hell of a great par once after hitting into a hazard then canning the next from the tee. Then there's my bud who got two w/i his first six or so months of playing.

Do eagles count??? They tally just like aces on the card.

Only if you eagle a par 3.

An ace is unique because no one who has ever played golf has ever scored less on a hole than you.

Of course, the youngest golfer to score an ace was about 6-8 years old so its not like acers have found a cure for cancer.
My Ace story: Posted in a previous thread.

I never had an ace, came close many times but I was due to play in a local charity tournament one day and decided to play a quick nine by myself. Sure enough, dunked a 150 yd 7 iron but you know the rest of the story. No one with me and didn't finish the round. I asked the guy working in his back yard if he saw it, I was desperate!

A freind of mine had an ace on 350 yd dogleg par 4.
A cousin told me of his first ace several years ago. I asked how many witnesses he had. Just one, his friend Ernie. Having been told previously that Ernie was blind since birth I just snickered. Apparently it wasn't the first time his story had received that reaction. He became very irate with me. It was a good thing that it was a short visit.
I've had one ace, 128yrd par three over water. I miss hit a 9-iron(bladed it badly) but it curved
right at the hole and went in on the fly. Crushed the side of the cup in.
Poplar Creek (Hoffman Estates, IL)...The second hole is a 193 yard carry over water. Took a 9-iron and dropped it about 6 feet above and to the right of the hole and watched it roll back and right into the cup. This was during a golf outing and I also won the long drive contest when I put my drive on the 7th hole into the water 380 yards off the tee.

I should mention that we had 30 mph winds with gusts to 40 mph that day. Still the best golfing day of my life.

Looking at the ball as I write this.
